Hey guys, first post here. Ive been lurking for a lil while and I'm a big fan of WoO. I really enjoy small stakes recreational gambling and want to get a funny/dumb/witty small blackjack tattoo. So far my ideas are a 6 and a 5 (haven't decided suit) with the words "Double Your Pleasure"; a pair of eights or aces with "Split Me Baby, One More Time"; or some stiff hand with "I'd Hit That". The last one is my least favorite. Any thoughts?

Personally I'm against tattoos - say you had a girlfriend's name, then that would be embarrassing if you moved on later in life. I can understand a biker can expect to remain one for the rest of their life, so that would seem reasonable.

Gambling should either be fun, a job in the industry, or making money from gambling. Only you know how long your "recreational" gambling might remain a serious part of your life. There are also some people who disapprove of gambling, so there's always that risk at a job interview.

Nevertheless if you google "blackjack tattoos" there are some interesting designs - most of them seem to have an Ace Jack Blackjack, but I like the idea of being subtle and having something less obvious. btw 65 may be taken as the age one retires and 88 might be considered "two fat ladies" from bingo. On that front A A would seem to be the best option (it is also the best poker Hold 'Em starting hand).

Best of luck with whatever choice you make.

Just have some random hand, like T-5-3.

Or my FAVORITE hand ever: A-7-8 [versus dealer Ten].

AAAA split with 4 tens turned to the side on top of the aces would be nice. Or a 8888 split, with 2s and 3s with an ace on the 82 doubles and tens on the 83 doubles. Or 7777 split with 77 on top of all the 7s.

A blackjack tattoo?

I think you'll regret it. Perhaps you should think about it for ten years. If you still want one ten years from now, repeat.

Up to you. Get a full back tattoo of a table layout and the dealer getting a 7 card 21. Your hand is a doubled down 11, which becane a 20, and a lot of chips out. Add a smiling pit boss in the corner.

I have a tattoo of a royal flush in spades - I changed it up so the big Spade symbol is a scales of justice. It was a first tattoo and I got it done in Hawaii. I now have three tattoos and am looking for more.

If I were to get a blackjack tattoo, I would have a pair of 8s against a 10 - with the 8s split and two face-down cards on top of them. The words with them - probably "No Guts, No Glory" or "What Are You Made Of?"

Do what you want, but you have described the idea as "funny/dumb/witty". After seeing it for 20 years do you think you may find it to be more one of those three adjectives and and not so much the other two? I guess that just makes me a tattoo-free type. If everyone thought like that no one would ever get one.

Strongly recommend against any tattoo having "88" in it. "88" is/was a big theme in tattoos for white power where each 8 stands for the 8th letter of the alphabet which translates to "HH" or "Heil Hitler" in white supremacist groups.

Unless you are ok with being perceived the wrong way, AA is a better bet in that standpoint

Didn't even think about it - especially with my bald head and pasty-white skin, people will get the wrong idea about me (a VERY wrong idea since I had a friend who once looked at me almost mouth agape and remarked, "You are REALLY not a racist person." He forgets, of course, that I tend to hate everyone equally.)

What if the 8s are split into two separate hands like two mystery cards as I described above? As if to make it more clear that they're actual blackjack hands and not a representation of admiring a total whack job?

"Story of My Life"

A line that I hear a lot of players say is, "stay and pray."
Maybe a hand like 2,3 or something bizarrely incorrect to stand on with the caption "Stay and Pray"

I think you'd be fine if the if the cards were seperated enough. My thoughts are that if you have two 8 cards next to one another (implying split or something of the like) that it may convey a different message to those who don't know much about blackjack and be more of a white supremacy and could imply that you gamble with your life or something of the sort. You should be fine separating them, especially if there are more than just those two cards involved. Just my two cents.. I could be completely paranoid about this whole thing, but i look at it from the standpoint that if you get a tattoo that is normally publically visible, there will be hundreds of thousands of people that see it every year and all it takes is 1 or 2 to take it the wrong way and it'll really wreck your day/year. Like i said though.. I'm probably just paranoid

I would suggest getting this tattoo on your arm.

Thanks for the input. BIG thanks for the advice on the white supremacy thing haha. I know what I enjoy and my sense of humor so I'm not too worried about regretting it, and it will definitely be in a place that could be covered up for a job interview ("Hey lets trust that guy with a blackjack hand tattooed on his wrist with our accounts. Seems like a reliable fella.") For what its worth I'm think about a pair of dice showing 6 and 5 with "Get to the point, yo!" on the opposite side of my body from the blackjack one. Like that idea better honestly. Just bouncing stuff off the wall here, might not even do it. Getting my first tattoo in 2 weeks for a friend that passed away, and I'm already feeling the ink addiction. Want some small witty ones to go with the medium sad one

Tattoos are too permanent for me, personally, but go for it. YOLO.

You seem to want a tattoo that says something about both women and cards, maybe a tattoo something like the photo below, with "I'd split THOSE tens!"

Needs to be a woman's body with really good legs, not just the lower half (she's a "10" - her legs are "10"s). In my head, the woman was seen full-length from the rear, looking back over her shoulder, kind of like Betty Grable (google her). Straight legs, either together or shoulder-width; long hair that curls down to cover her crack, but otherwise nude (except for thigh-high stockings or tattoos -NOT LEGGINGS- and heels) so you won't get kicked out of a public venue shirtless.

Or not. It's your body, and tattoos are forever.

If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.
