I saw a new blackjack side bet at the Four Queens while there for the WoV festivities last Sunday. Please see my page on Golden 21 for the details. As always, I welcome comments, questions, and especially corrections.
The question for the poll is would you play Golden 21?

Seems similar to the House Money side bet, but the House Money is only 2.79%. Is this because you can parlay the winnings to the blackjack hand? The Golden 21 side bet seems to have much, much, better payouts. If only you could parlay it to the blackjack hand, then perhaps I'd play it randomly for fun 'now and then.'
Overall, especially with 7%+ HE I would not play it.
Thanks for the analysis!

Playing it correctly means you've already won.

In Washington, there's a similar game called "Big Slick". Remove the Blackjack line item, bump Straight Flush to 7:1, bump AK suited to 40:1, and add 1000:1 for AKs v dealer AKs. House edge becomes 5.some-odd%
Casinos are not your friends, they want your money. But so does Disneyland.
And there is no chance in hell that you will go to Disneyland and come back with more money than you went with.

In the base game, does blackjack pay 3:2 as well?
I assume only the highest combination gets paid on the side bet (e.g., A/K suited doesn't also get straight flush nor blackjack pays).

Side bet has a nice hit rate at 26%+, but HE is too high for my liking.
Almost 9% of the Return to Player is tied up in the 30-1 event that happens once every 337 hands.....as a result the pay table is too top heavy to provide a good player experience IMHO.
