Quote: aceofspadesOk Penn & Teller were excellent..I had a seat on the floor to the right of the stage...most of the act I had seen previously on various videos but seeing it lve was great...seeing as I share their libertarian and non-religious views, I was intune with Penn's banter...Teller's sleight of hand has not missed a beat and overall I thoroughly enjoyed myself...
Headed back to home base and had some pizza...as I went to sit down at a 2D game a woman began cheering...she was at a penny slot machine and had won $880...good for her...
The dealer shuffled and in the first shuffle I was able to win a first hand double...followed by 2 blackjacks as I was pressing my bets...I ended up +900
On the way back to my room I walked through the high limit room where there was a gentleman playing 3 hands at a time at $25k per hand...staggering amount of money to wager as every 10 hands was worth a 1.5mil swing
(However, he looked absolutely miserable, like he was not enjoying life)
Off to bed
Trip is +1k
Just came home from the Aria today. That's funny I was just across at the craps table when that lady won on the penny slot. the way she was screaming I thought she won $1,000,000!! I went over to look and saw it was a penny slot. Had the pizza that night too and it was very tasty. I too was in the Sky Suites with a 1 bdrm suite and an adjoining room because I needed the two extra beds. I was there 21st to the 24th and played for 12 hours so im sure we crossed paths. Small world. No golf? I was lucky enough to play Shadow creek and it was incredible! Trip report from me later. I mean winning trip report from me later!
I kept rolling rolling rolling maoing money for the table and about my 12th roll...the female dealer told me to give her $5 dollars for the "mystery bet"...as I am clueless about craps I obliged and she put it next to my bet on the pass line...a couple of rolls later I finally asked her what the mystery bet was and she said "well, when a person is making money it is proper to tip the dealer and we bet it with you to show our mutual respect"...what the F-word is that about?!? Telling me to give her money for some.bet and it turns out it was not actually a bet but a tip???
Quote: aceofspadesSo I took 100 to try my first foray into craps

Where was that ace, Aria????
I'll have a word with the Director of Surveillance over there and he can take the matter further. Toke hustling is NOT ok, never, ever, never!
Yet another reason why I can't stand dealers, especially on the Strip. I see this kind of thing happen far too often. Makes me sick.

Post of the day
Quote: aceofspadesI rolled three times for a total of about 25 throws
Did you land up making any money? What did you bet on?
I will mention her name and the incident to my friend. Hopefully he will mention it to the VP of gaming operations and get it sorted!

I CAN'T STAND THAT WOMAN! Horrible attitude, and hearing your experience makes me even more disgusted. (I had a very bad experience with her a little while back)
To be quite honest, I don't care for the white craps dealers at Aria. I haven't played much BJ there, so I'll withhold judgment on those dealers. (And before anyone blasts me for being racist, I'm white too, so I don't wanna hear it...lol)
Another time at Aria's craps table, a middle-aged white guy with glasses gave me crap about not tipping after I threw four 7's in a row on the Pass Line and won $100 right after arriving at the table. Little did that idiot know that I was down $650 from the other table and planned on tipping once I established a point!! Jerks!
You should play craps next door at Cosmo or Monte Carlo. Much better dealers at the craps tables than Aria.

That was a great way for her to ensure she received no further tips...do you think I should notify my host?
Quote: aceofspadesThat was a great way for her to ensure she received no further tips...do you think I should notify my host?
Most definitely!! That was clearly inappropriate behavior, especially considering that you're a valued player who tips anyway.

Problem is the host doesn't have the VP's ear so if word gets to the CDM (casino duty manager) and he decides it isn't worth hims time then nothing will get done.
The brass want to do as little as possible unless it comes from way up above.....then they jump and squeal :)

Don't get me wrong, I think ace should complain to all of the above....lol :)

I have already sent the Director of Surveillance there an email. He will sort it out, I have no doubt!

Nice to have friends in high places...
I think I've heard that somewhere before...Quote: sodawaterit's like that saying, in the poker game of life, women are the rake

They seem to rake in more then $4 or 10% of all pots though
Quote: aceofspadesI rolled three times for a total of about 25 throws
That's actually your most likely result; the average number of rolls per shooter is just about 8.5 (with the absolute minimum being 2).
Sorry to hear about the tip hustling. That's no way for a first craps session to go. And I think the behavior you described goes beyond just tip hustling. Tip hustling is when a dealer gives you grief for winning a lot and not toking them. Here, you thought you were making a bet against the casino but instead the dealer kept the money.
Just imagine how successful he might have been, had he chosen an honest profession instead !
I am once again back east and reflecting upon my trip…
The trip ended +2k after runs of being +1k, -4,900, even, -4900 and even
My foray into craps was exciting and, I am sure, under bet
However, I am sure the talk of the trip for me was the dealer at the craps table on my last night who decided to fraudulently tip herself…the 'mystery bet' issue is still alive as I am deciding who at the casino I should inform (host, customer service, CEO…???)
It seems the debate is whether or not anything will even be done as far as reprimanding this dealer, Karina…
I welcome all of your advice as I want to get something done about this ASAP
Thank you all for joining me on my trip via the forum and I cannot wait for my next trip!

Director of Table Games? I don't know, maybe someone else can chime in. I just hope that Karina woman gets disciplined!!
Shoot Tomspur a PM. He knows the right guy and already said he was on this re: Karina.

Math question.
Does Triple B == Double C == D ?

Are you saying you like to have B====D going through Double Cs?
Quote: BuzzardIs there a 44 missing in front of each number? Or did a certain female administrator edit the above post ?
As to the first question, yes, it would have been funnier, though I think it was implied. As to the second, no, I'm not running around after people editing random posts, but please, continue to be tiresome about accusing me of stuff like this. We're all enjoying it so much when you do. /Sarcasm.
Looked that up, and this thingy is PRI$EY! Doesn't look that much easier than the Hi-Lo, and maybe slightly better than the Ace-Five. I wouldn't trust my BR to that.

Yup.
I completely understand the desire for a recreational player to have something very simple that will allow him to more or less break even. But the speed count really isn't any simpler than a real counting system.
Quote: sodawaterit's possible ace is just saying he uses speed count in case any of his hosts are reading.
I'm not talking about ace in particular. Just the count.
However, if you're right, I think claiming to use a D'Alembert progression would increase his comps more :)
