"All Players Must Be Seated."

A dealer today stated that a floor person and a dealer on yesterday's swing shift got fired for not enforcing this. Nobody seems to know the rationalization for this signage.

Perhaps to "run interference" against back counters, who wouldn't be able to find an available seat?

Might make it harder to pass post or some other cheating method.

"All Players Must Be Seated."

I assume this is in the Blackjack Pit area.

Although the Palms recently was fined (wrist-slapped) for its overly Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n Roll availabilities, I doubt that this might be a way of dampening the activities of some of the more actively cruising young ladies. Its more likely a way to lessen the ability of companions to offer advice from positions that give them a good view of hole cards. One sweet young thing who approaches her man and half drapes herself over him but who is not playing could quite understandably remain standing there, particularly at a busy table. Now I have absolutely no idea how this would work but I did recently hear that someone in a surveillance room actually accomplished something recently. I do not have any of the details but I understand the low wage surveillance worker recognized a woman's bracelet and noticed it was on a different woman than before. Replay of tapes is supposed to have shown that each of the women had put their arm around their man and rested their head close to him while occasionally nuzzling his ear a bit and chatting briefly. Each time the player at the other end of the table was a bold bettor and big winner. What the bracelet was, I have no idea since even a prism could not really be properly focused on the hole card from that distance. This story was from a source who recently retired from actively visiting casinos, perhaps due to the financial impact of a divorce and he was merely relaying what he him had heard so I really do not have any details but I think the incident, if its true, might be related to the signage.

I'm not sure... one of the players was chided for standing instead of sitting at the BJ table. This is how I was made aware of the new signage. So the implication is that this is aimed at players, and not non-players.

It would be nice on April 1st to move the sign to the craps table.

Perhaps its simply that the cameras and the floor person are focused on the playing area for hand signals ... perhaps, as dealers often think, there is never any rhyme or reason for a management directive!

Ok, it seems that I can only find 2 tables with this mystery sign. I think it has something to do with recent renovations in the pit area up front. My theory is that a blind spot now exists in the camera cverage of the pit, and that forcing players to sit allows cameras that normally cover the front door to now cover those tables.

I've never seen any signs, but I'm sure I've been present on several occasions when players were instructed by the dealer that they need to be seated to play their hands. Mostly Pai Gow Poker, I think.

With all the hookers out of work there, perhaps the Palms is trying to make new clients less noticeable by not letting them stand.

I was at a riverboat in Indiana this weekend, and returned to the table from a short break right at the start of a shoe (pitch game. I was still standing when I picked up my first hand. The dealer politely but firmly told me I had to sit down immediately. I learned players must sit for any table game where they touch the cards. She seemend pretty emphatic about enforcing the rule.

I got the impression it was pretty important, as she was much less concerned with other rules - one guy in particular kept picking up his bet and putting it on his cards when he stood on a hand and no one said a word.

Are these signs on hand held games like double deck? If so, I can understand why. If they are on shoe games then it would be more odd.

One sign is on a $25 DD and them other is on an adjoining $5 shoe on the NE corner of them front most pit. That gave me the idea the issue is camera related.
