I have a conundrum. Recently moved to the Seatac area and am shopping around for casinos/card houses with the best rules for double deck. One of the houses has a H17, double on first 2 cards, no DAS, no RSA, no LS. Pen is only about 55%. The other place is H17 DD9-11, no DAS, no RSA, no LS, but penetration is more in the 80% range. Would you rather see 2-3 more rounds before the shuffle, or just play the less pen for slightly better rules. My old stopping grounds was a H17, Double first 2, DAS, RSA, and LS with ~65% pen, and they give a $25 match play every day just for showing up. Golly, I wish it was closer. What would you do? Does anyone know of an establishment with comparable rules in Seattle/Tacoma area?

Here's the scoop on the rules vs. penetration issue: If you're not counting, pen is virtually irrelevant (in fact a CSM produces slightly better per-hand odds than a cut-card game). If you're counting, pen is very important.

That's what I figured. I count, but probably don't spread enough, I was at a place playing $5 and spreading to 2 $50 hands at one point...nobody seemed to care. So if you had the worst rules ever, pen is the way to go.

That place is so smokey. I also hate playing places where fellow players tell you surrender is a terrible play/you should have taken a card so the whole table doesn't loose.

Just ignore them, is it that hard?
