Well since we're trying to get kinda sorta almost correct about the name of the joint, like we'd actually been there in an almost halfway sober condition one day or sumpin'...

I loooooove going to AC in the off season. I feel like I have Ceasarís Palace to myself.

There is no Palace in AC. It's just Caesar's.

Right. That's getting a little warmer. A couple of degrees warmer. But. Not quite there yet.

There's also no Ceasar or Ceasar's or even Caesar's either. It is Caesars. C-A-E-S-A-R-S. That's plural, not possessive; no apostrophe. It is not a place named as belonging to any individual Caesar, it is intended to be a place of many Caesars. Many who are Caesar, but not a palace. Spelled with an "a" followed by an "e" with no apostrophe. And there's no palace in New Jersey for all those little Caesars; that's in Las Vegas.

"When it opens this summer (a date has not yet been set), guests will be able to smoke, eat at a buffet, take bus trips to the resort and find their way around the place much easier.

The vertiginous "escalator to heaven" at the main entrance will now have glass safety panels on either side; a two-night stay will no longer be required; a wall blocking the casino off from easy Boardwalk access is being replaced by stairs welcoming foot traffic; the casino will offer more things for kids and families to do; and gamblers of all levels will be welcomed.

The popular HQ outdoor pool and dance club will return, and Topgolf will offer virtual golf and other sports.

Actor and musician Mark Wahlberg will have a large presence at Ocean Resort, opening his Wahlburgers burger restaurant, and also will open a bar called "Entourage," Deifik said.

Kids will enjoy a large candy store, as well as "Cereal Town" an eatery "where you can go and have cereal for dinner, every kind of cereal from around the globe," Deifik said.

I am really glad they are adding safety panels to that escalator. That thing was legitimately scary. Not scary like you know better and will be fine. But scary as in it was poorly designed and you might actually fall.

It looks like at least one person was injured on them:

Iím looking at photos of the escalators and I canít tell what made them dangerous?

I was too young to gamble when the Revel opened so I have never been there.

It was awesome. It's the only casino I have ever been impressed with.

I never understood the fear of the escalator. What's the difference if it is 20 feet tall or 50 feet tall? Falling from either is going to suck. Also most people are over 21, shouldn't you know better than to not hang off the side.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed. I AM NOT WHO YOU THINK I AM.

And while we're at it, I would like to clarify something about Caesars Palace, Las Vegas:

There are two different stories about how Caesars Palace happend to be named without an apostrophe. One is, that when the signage for Caesars Palace was made the apostrophe was omitted somehow, and Jay Sarno just let it go because it was too close to the casino opening on August 5, 1966 to correct the issue. The second version as to how the apostrophe was omitted is that Jay Sarno felt that everybody that came to Caesars Palace was a Caesar, and this is why there is no apostrophe. But if this version of the story is true then it should be called Caesars' Palace (with an apostrophe after the s).

By the way, from what I know, it is never been shown conclusively which of the two versions of the missing apostrophe story is true.

By the way, from what I know, it is never been shown conclusively which of the two versions of the missing apostrophe story is true.

This is the first time I've heard the other version, first one above, in which it was accidental. But I do find it easily believable, and I wouldn't be too surprised if the version I know of has to do with a story cooked up to explain something away, maybe running out of punctuation funding after blowing all that money buying vowels. It is consistent with how an awful lot of things got (half-assed) done in the course of the creation of the Las Vegas Strip. The construction of the Stratosphere tower, with more than a little incompetence involved, including the 'feet' at the base supporting that tower not getting put where they're supposed to be, comes readily to mind as just one example among many.

But then, in the case of the Crib for a bunch of Caesars - Version #2 that I'm more familiar with, I don't necessarily agree with the conclusion that there should've then been an apostrophe added in the plural form (s') indicating possession of the alleged "Palace" at Flamingo & LVB by all those grubby little supposed Caesars that are to be in it. Anymore than a nuthouse known as a loony bin needs to be nut's or nuts' house or a loony's bin indicating that the inmates are in charge of the asylum, or say if a den of thieves was appropriately named Thieves Den that it must necessarily become either Thief's or Thieves' Den - maybe the thieves didn't either buy the joint or steal it fair & square, but it is rented out for use by thieves. Or nuts, or a bunch of wannabe Caesars for about as long as their money lasts.
