I'm going to set up a boom box next to that woman. She is a real irritant and has a horrible voice. If people didn't give her money she would disappear.

Here is a result of the quiz:

The Champ is Chaunceyb3 (all his answers are correct),

The first runner-up is Boz, and

The second runner-up is Jack.
I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

So Artemis, what are the answers to the other photos?

Also, I once ate dinner next to Tony the "dancing queen of the boardwalk" at the Arkansas Ave. McDonald's (2011). Haven't seen him for years; last I heard, he was in jail. Did he pass away?

What do you think of the new storefronts being built in the former Trump World's Fair lot?

Answers:

1) Rocky, the Squirrel,

2) Our Lady Star of the Sea Church near Trop, and

3B) Lee, the Kung Fu Master on the Boardwalk near Caesars.

3A, 4, & 5 are previously answered correctly by Chaunceyb3.

Hey Chaunceyb3, What a small world! You asked questions about Tony and the storefronts. Look at the photos of Tony & storefronts. Where did Tony dance in front of... before he kicked the bucket? Isn't it really spooky or what?

Tony, the dancing queen, had danced on Boardwalk in front of old Playboy Casino AKA Atlantis Casino AKA Trump World's Fair Casino, now the brand-new-storefronts.

Storefronts look mighty good on AC Boardwalk near Florida Avenue, but I predict that storefronts will remain untouchable for at least 1 year. R. E. Agent Kevin says that the rent for a small storefront is $68,000/yr, & $100,000/yr for a bigger storefront.

Also the negative images/crimes on Boardwalk really hurt the storefront-businesses. Young guys grab, steal, and run from stores. The homeless guys dig thru garbage cans for food (see photo). Even some visitors pissed at the storefronts near Trop Casino (see photo).

As to pussy cats... yes, there is an adorable and famous one. Her name is Sally. She greets visitors on Boardwalk near Texas Avenue. Recently she has gone MIA; perhaps she is in hibernation like a bear.

Thanks for photos of the new storefronts there in AC. Last time I was down there I saw them pouring the concrete footings, and wasn't sure what was being constructed.

Used to go to AC 2 or 3 times a year. Did not go at all in 2015.

Hope they can consolidate things, and that the casinos that remain can be profitable.

The casino has the right to limit who throws...You do not want to hear: "Sorry sir; you can bet on the other shooters if you wish, but you can no longer shoot the dice."

Wong's comments are more than true. With excuses, casinos can do whatever they want against skilled craps players.

Excuse#1: Undershooting, i.e., dice fail to hit the gator walls, and
Excuse#2: Overshooting, i.e., dice bounce off the felt & jump off to the casino floor.

With above excuses, this most moody & uptight supervisor/boxperson refuses to allow this winning craps-shooter to roll the dice.

Excuse#3: "management decision"

This shiftmanager bans another winning craps-player with the usual excuse of "management decision." Rumors have it that the player's banned for being suspicious of money laundry. He usually buys in with $2,500 cash...just below the benchmark of the $3,000 Suspicious Activity Reports.

There is always a first time for everything. I always know that any AC casino can ban card counters with excuses. Now an AC casino even bans a skilled craps player too. YesSiree-Bob, it's just another fact of life in AC casinoland.

Skilled Craps Players
It's dice we're talking about here. It's not like a 16 pound bowling ball being rolled down a perfectly maintained, and level alley. It's a pair of DICE for Chrissake, each of which weigh less than a fraction of an ounce, which are then being thrown down a felt table full of minute snags, runs, bottom shelf scotch stains, etc, each of which will make them spin, gyrate, and behave completely independent of your powers

Hello Mr. Runspotwalk, thanks for your feedback.

I need to point out to you and readers how AC casino senior executives work.

They adore consistent losers, but they nuke consistent winners. If they think you're not profitable, they don't want you. It doesn't matter if you're a skilled card counter (i.e., Ross Miller), a skilled craps player (i.e., "Dr. X"), a skilled roulette player (i.e., "JM"), a skilled slot player (i.e., "Señor Jorge"), a skilled system player (i.e., "MZ"), etc... Casinos must have profit, and that's the bottom line.

Here is a story about "MZ" who gets nuked. MZ doesn't count cards, but he just plays BJ smartly. He believes that a moving target is harder to hit, so he moves among different bj tables based on hunches to minimize the risk of big losses. His way of gambling works well for him.

When he gets nuked, he calls a gaming agent for help. The agent asks MZ to negotiate directly with the manager. MZ calls the manager, but the manager refuses to UNnuke him because MZ is not profitable.

As the old saying goes...No Profit - No talk. No Money - No talk. I like to quote a friendly shiftmanager who says..."it's all business decision based on profitability..." As a result, the manager places many unprofitable players on the list of persona non grata.

Offhand question, maybe should be asked in a different thread, whatever...
Let's imagine a player that wins a little, not a lot, just a little.
Plays like a drunken sailor, plays table max frequently, plays table min frequently, plays everything in between, runs lots of chips of all color cross the table. Maybe wins a little now and then.
The novice player at the table just sees the big wins, doesn't remember all the mid-size losses. That player gets excited and bets a bit more than they would have had it not been for the crazy atmosphere that 'the drunken sailor" brought to the table.
Is the 'house" bright enough to recognize the value of sailor boy, or does the house throw him out for being a winner? You can use any 'house' you like to provide examples....
Youuuuuu MIGHT be a 'rascal' if.......(nevermind ;-)...2F

Yo 2F, with a good excuse (i.e., interference with casino operation), an AC shiftmanager of XYZ Casino can throw out the sailor boy "Jolly Roger" who's a skilled player & persona non grata.

The manager doesn't see the value to keep Jolly Roger around to fool other losers. In fact the manager warns a loser "Zucker" to stay away from Jolly Roger. If Zucker fails to comply, the manager will take Zucker out of the MVP list and place him on the list of persona non grata. I kid you guys not. It's just another fact of life in AC casinoland.

So true on the thieves of AC. Watched many a time one walk into a Taffy shop and fill their pockets and walk out. The minimum wage clerk is going to do nothing. Try that 2 blocks back and the shop keeper will shoot you.

Put me in the column of supporting the rights of the shop keeper to shoot them. After all the AC Police don't give a damn. Ok, maybe post a sign stating shoplifters will be shot to allow them to make the choice.

Guys, let's be fair to AC in regard to crimes, especially on the AC Boardwalk. Very recently the Ambassadors are given credits for the drop in crimes on Boardwalk. When there are trouble makers on Boardwalk, an Ambassador will call cops. Within 3 minutes, cops will be on Boardwalk to take care of the trouble makers.

I understand the business decision to bar winners, that makes sense. I don't like it, but I understand.

But is there anything to the idea that the casinos want a chance to 'win it back'. Or they beleive the HA doesn't apply to some gamblers?

Despite what others say, I strongly believe they never 86 a winner. The 86 someone because there is a perception of wrong doing. They either feel you are cheating, counting, using excessive free play it some other reason. It's never just because you won.

December's winning reports are in. Borg is still the leader of the pack in winnings: $59,021,628. Taj comes in last again in winnings: $10,688,310. This is no surprise to anyone, right?

In a just breaking AP news story Straub has made the decision to open up the Revel with a casino 50% smaller than before. As to when that happens is anyone's guess but he is committed keeping a casino in the Revel.

While I think AC still has too many casinos, it's good news. It's a truly great property (visited but never stayed though) and offering a smaller casino would be nice. I just wish it was more centrally located. It always seemed like such a long walk to get from the casino, to the boardwalk, then to wherever you were heading (for us resorts so it wasn't too bad). Wonder if they could make easier boardwalk access somehow.

The above ruling is good news for Taj, but bad news for union workers. The owner already starts fixing up Taj. Taj will be "unplugged" and temporary shuttered down for "upgrading" during 3am thru 6am for 2 nights (Wed & Thur). Currently 100s of slots have been unplugged near the Chariman's Club in preparation of the upgrading.

At least it should take away the concerns about closing that has moved many of their local players elsewhere. He has a huge task of building a player base back up in a still (Non Borgata) declining gambling market.

Here are some historical events that had shut down one of my favorite games: dice.

1) 2006
NJ Lawmakers failed to pass NJ State Budget. Because of the lack of the State Budget, casino inspectors were sent home without pay. No inspectors, no dice.

2) 2012
Hurricane Sandy shut down all casinos. As a result, there's no dice games for me.

3) Last weekend, Blizzard 2016
Blizzard kept most craps-dealers home. As a result, there's no dice games in this Casino:

The Blizzard had kept most dealers home, but it failed to keep this porky pig from shopping in that Casino's Mall:

I have hardly ever found anything useful in a casino until today. I've found 2 useful items in the same casino.

1) A Real Clock.
An AC casino finally hangs a REAL clock on the wall.

Now I can finally tell time by that real clock in that unique casino. Can any you guys guess correctly which casino hangs that clock on the wall?

2) An unique sign - An Integrity-Jingle: "Integrity do what's right no matter what."
An AC casino displays this sign in a pit and asks its manager to do what's right, no matter what.

Hmm... how can a casino asks its manager to run the gambling den with integrity? There's not much of integrity when a manager welcomes consistent losers, and he has to run off the consistent winners (i.e., Ross Miller) from the pit. Well at least I can point to that integrity-sign before a manager runs me out of the pit for some advantage-plays:-)

Also thought the bar was part of the new Guy Fieri Bbq but now I'm not so sure as they are calling it the Boardwalk Bar. Could they be closing the Mountain Bar to make room for Guy's?

The difference is the homeless guys made the choice to be there, the cats didn't.

So is Guy's BBQ going in the old Mountain Bar and snack bar area?

...massage parlor has been shut down and two women are facing prostitution charges...

http://6abc.com/news/main-line-massage-parlor-shut-down-2-women-charged-after-raid-/1187580/

The above news make me think about the massage parlors on the AC Boardwalk. There are more massage parlors on AC Boardwalk than any main-street U.S.A. Why?

Something doesn't add up. Recently @ Trop's cage, I saw a well known massage parlor girl who traded in a bundle of tens and twenties for a fistful of hundred dollar bills. Hmmm... how can a regular masseur make that much of money in one day? Also, how can a owner/masseur pay $50,000 per year to rent a storefront to massage guys profitably? Something Ain't Kosher, right?
I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

I believe the igloos are for the Boardwalk Cats placed there by Alley Cat Allies

Also thought the bar was part of the new Guy Fieri Bbq but now I'm not so sure as they are calling it the Boardwalk Bar. Could they be closing the Mountain Bar to make room for Guy's?

Cat house.

My GF and I seen a white kitty on the board walk last time we were in AC. She wanted to make sure it was ok and feed it(What the hell are we gong to feed it?). It looked well kept to me. Sure enough It quickly ran into one of the businesses and greeted the owner. I said, "that cat is having the time of it's life."

I always wondered the same thing. I'm thinking , why the hell do they have so many, no one is even using them. Personally I have never been to one. I have never paid for a massage not even at a legitimate place. Sometime in the late 90's I dated a red head girl who was taking massage therapy classes. Lucky for me she had to practice her techniques often.

"Atlantic City could run out of cash Feb. 24 if Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa makes good on a threat to stop paying real estate taxes, an attorney for the city told a judge Friday.
Borgata, which wants $170 million in refunds for paying more than six years of bloated taxes, tightened the screws Friday in its attempt to collect $62.5 million it’s owed for 2009 and 2010 overpayments.
The casino will exercise its right to offset the $62.5 million with upcoming tax bills, including $7.5 million due Feb. 10, Borgata attorney Jack Plackter said during a court hearing." acpress

This weekend kicks off the annual celebration of Asian New Year 2016 (The year of the Fire Monkey). The Asian performers (see photos) put on a free show in the AC Saint Michael Church's Theater (it's directly across the street from the Bass Pro Shops.)

To each his own. Some people (i.e, Bac79) love monkey; some don't. You won't see another Fire Monkey until 2028. The Fire Monkey repeats itself once every 12 years.

Look at the chart below. Based on your DOB, let's find out what kind of animal are you. For example, if you're born in 2000, then you are a smart Dragon Boy. On the other hand, if you're born in 1980, then you are a rambunctious Monkey Boy. Disclaimer: use the chart for entertainment purposes only.

According to your chart, I'm dead.

(Not really, but geez, cutting it off at age 56? About half the people on this board are dead.)

I think I would be a dog if I'm extrapolating correctly. :) Don't know what being a dog means, but I'm a dog lover and constant owner, so maybe it's fated.

I get some good news for those who missed out on the free show @ the AC Saint Michael Church's Theater.

AC Bally's Casino hires some Asian performers to put on another free show on 2/20/2016 from 2pm to 4pm. Come and enjoy the 2 hour-free-show on the Boardwalk by the Dennis Courtyard.

Quote: AC Craps Shooter "Sal" @ Caesars

Taj's craps tables are tallest/highest among AC casinos...approx 30 inches higher...because of sharp-shooters Frank and Dominic who consistently beat Taj circa 2009.

Can you guys confirm Sal's above statements? Why did taj go thru all that trouble to rebuild all its craps tables higher when Taj could just ban Frank and Dominic with a $200 max & min restriction?
