Sahara South Lake Tahoe

Growing up, my family had a cabin about 15 miles from stateline CA/Nevada near Lake Tahoe. I remember that just as you crossed the line, there were the "Big 4" casinos: Harrah's, Harvey's Wagon Wheel, Sahara, and the runt of the bunch, Barney's. I was much too young to gamble, but my grandma used to bring us souvenir dice and decks of cards from the casinos. I thought it was such a big deal, the cards having a sticker "used in actual play ...". Below are some links from Sahara and Barney's:

This is where Elvis stayed and played. It was falling apart as the Horizon in recent years. I hope it comes back better.

It is coming back as a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, I believe.
