Maybe Nick'sGamingStuff can give us some info on himself. That woud help.

Nick is in his mid-twenties I would say. He is about my height and weight. He works out with a personal trainer, but I think emphasizes a muscular workout, as opposed to cardio, which I prefer. I think Nick used to be very into track, but has slacked off. He specializes in short distance, while I prefer long distance. We decided on one mile as a compromise. Nick basically has youth on his side, while I have been running more often than him lately. However, he says he is going to get back into it.

I know both of you and would bet on Mike over a mile ... I would favor Nick up to 1/2 mile but beyond that I think that Mike's endurance will persevere.

Sorry for going off topic a bit, but NicksGamingStuff and I have been planning to partake in the feats of strength with a one-mile running race. Not necessarily during G2E, since we both live here, but if anybody else is interested in a physical competition, we can open it up to anybody.

Too bad I'm not in shape. I'm more of a walker. 2.5 miles to work everyday. (And no, DJTB I don't plan on walking from the airport this year.)

If this meetup is open to everyone I may try and stop by and say hello. I have worked with the Wizard in the past, and Pacman once or twice a long time ago but I don't believe that I know anyone else that posts on here.

The more the merrier. Hope to see lots of people this year.

Even money and I'm NOT betting. They are too evenly matched...

They're both long and lean, Nick's young, the Wiz has been running more, Nick doesn't like the distance.

I'd say Nick burns him for the first half-mile, but then Wiz overtakes. If Nick's anything like me, he's a sprint a half-mile, take a ten minute break drink some water, have a smoke, and then sprint the other half-mile type!

In light of the recent turn of events, I wouldn't object to taking our business elsewhere and moving to a restaurant off-site.

Will do, but sold my cue years ago. Only played snooker once in my life. In Laredo, Texas. Strange pool room.
Very strange. Played straight pool (14-1) and opponent sank 15th ball, which I added to the rack. But instead of a safety shot next,
he smacked the rack hard, then placed the ball he made on the spot and was about to continue shooting. I raised so much hell the
owner came over and agreed with my opponent. I was trying to decide which to club with my cue stick, when the owner said
" I'll prove it "

Now , that rule book I wanted to see. Instead he returned with an Almanac of sports records, opened to pocket billiards, and showed me Willie Mosconi had world record of 527 without a miss. This was in 1964. I had racked in 1958 for Willie in an exhibition in Henry G's poolroom. If You could give me the position that man got after each shot, I could run a 100 every day like Willie did.

Before I could reply, the owner added " And you are gonna tell me he did it your way ??? " Hell, I could not argue with logic like that.

PS I smashed my way to victory and $20.

Better watch out, Switch. The Wizard fished me into 'The 1st Annual Pushup Contest' at G2E last year and bested me and Eliot J ... and no, age was not taken into account!

Actually, I'd be willing to let him defend his title if he'd permit handicaping for age ... and perhaps injuries :-)). He's the Wizard, so if he did the math on the handicap allowances, we should insist on disclosure of the 'house edge.'

I'm okay with keeping the venue at the same place in the Palazzo. However, if there is to be any gambling afterward, I'd suggest the Wynn or Treasure Island.

Wiz, I did a quick review of the thread, this is what I have:

Attendees (in no particular order, my apologies if I missed someone, post a follow up and add your name):

DJTeddyBear, CrystalMath, Wiz, Buzzpaff, Miplet, Paradigm, Lucky, Switch, MrCasinoGames, PaiGowDan, DRich.......Total of 11!

Missing from attendees list but members at the Show: Teliot, Pacman (doubt Roger will show, but maybe we could buy him a drink), MathExtremist, SooPoo, CRMousseau

I think we should definitely try and have some attendees at the restaurant/bar by 4:45PM to establish place to sit a group that large. I don't know the layout of "I Love Burgers". Do they have a bar area where we can have several seats and others can just stand with drinks? Once we know how many are staying for dinner, we can put in for an adequate table in the restaurant. Of course if restaurant seating is all they have, we may need to adjust and get a reservation up front or ???

In any event, just two weeks out at this point so wanted to refresh the thread.

Rich Newman, the gaming patent attorney that I and several members use, will be at G2E.

I don't think I'd need to twist his arm much to have him join us. It's just a question of whether or not he already has plans.

If there was no 'vig', then, yes, that is what it would mean. If I were a real bookie you would probably get $180 on a $100 bet on NGS, and have to bet $220 to win $100 on the Wiz. And by the way, Scott is NOT taking action on this bet! Nick... I will have to be rooting for Mike.... It's just an age thing... We old guys have to stick together...

Thanks for the update SooPoo....I wasn't sure when you arrived in town.

As a recap, those that are confirmed: DJ, CrystalMath, Wiz, Miplet, Paradigm, Lucky, Switch, MrCasinoGames (I only show him as a confirmation in the thread), PaiGowDan, DRich, & Buzzpaff

Unconfirmed but potentially at the Show: teliot, MathExtremist, Pacman, RichN, CRMousseau, (Muskin....I don't know his screen name)

Let's have any other adds or subtractions to the confirmed list come from the "horse's mouth" as opposed to what other members might think is happening. If you are so inclined, PM the member you would like to see at the event and have them add a response to the thread if they can make it.
