How To Play Roulette

How To Play Roulette

Roulette is an easy game to play. The most important thing to understand about roulette is that is it all based on the odds. There is no real skill involved, except in counting the odds. The roulette wheel has no memory so it doesn’t know that the color red showed up for the last eight rounds. That doesn’t mean that black is more likely to show up on the next round. The wheel is completely random. You can’t predict the outcome.

That said, why would anyone play roulette? Because it’s fun and exciting. It really is.

Online Gambling: Enjoy It, But Set Yourself A Budget

Online gambling has a bad rep in some parts of the world. But many gamblers don’t gamble anywhere but online. These are the serious online game players.
Back in the day when there was no online gambling, people had to get in their cars and travel some distance to get to their favorite gambling spot. Some folks just decided not to do it at all. After all, why travel halfway across perdition just to play a game with house odds? But it’s so much more convenient online where you don’t have to pay pump prices to lose money – or to win big jackpots!
Online gambling has become popular partly because of the Texas Holdem phenomenon. That is, popular card games like poker and Blackjack have driven many amateur gamblers to their computers for some wild Internet fun – and I’m not talking about digital peep shows. I’m talking about spending a little bit of time online to have some fun instead of walking out of your house into the danger zone.
For just a few bucks each time you play, you can have an evening of good clean, wholesome fun and save on the budget. Set yourself a budget, a reasonable budget, and stick to it. If you would normally spend $50 on a night on the town then set yourself a similar budget. Once you lose that amount, quit playing. Come back another night and play your favorite online game again.

When To Place Your Roulette Bet
In roulette, you place your bet by putting your chips down on either red or black or selecting a number that you think the ball will fall on when the wheel stops spinning. You place your bet before the croupier, or banker, spins the wheel. The croupier first spins the wheel then he rolls the ball in the opposite direction on the spinning wheel. The players watch until the ball drops on a colored number and the banker handles all the collections and payouts based on the outcome.

There are 37 numbered slots in European roulette - 1 through 36 and the number zero. American roulette has an added double 0. That increases the house advantage from 2.7% to 5.26%. The even numbers are always colored red and the odd numbers are black. The zeros are colored green.

Usually, you’ll have 6 to 8 players around a wheel. No more than that. Each player will have a different color chip so that the banker can keep track of each player’s bets more easily.

The Different Types Of Roulette Bets
You have different types of bets in roulette. Two of the most popular bets are inside bets and outside bets. The inside bets are based on individual numbers or groupings while the outside bets are based on larger sets of numbers. In order to bet you have to meet the table minimum. Many tables require a minimum bet for both inside and outside bets, meaning you can’t split the minimum between the two. If you want to place an inside bet and an outside bet then you have to meet the minimum for both bets.

You can place an inside bet on a single number, two numbers, three numbers, four numbers, or six numbers. The payouts for each type of bet are:

Single bet (straight up) - 35 to 1
Split bet (two numbers) - 17 to 1
Trio bet - 11 to 1
Corner bet (four numbers) - 8 to 1
Line bet (six numbers) - 5 to 1
You can’t just bet on any series of numbers. Each type of bet has specific number sets pre-arranged. For instance, a line bet will be 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, etc. You can’t bet on 1,5,7,12,16, and 28, for instance.

Outside bets do not pay as much as inside bets. There are three types of outside bets:

Column bets
Dozen bets
Even bets
There are three column bets. They are simply 12 randomly selected numbers in a column. You’ll find these three columns at the bottom of the inside betting area. If any one of your 12 numbers win the bet will pay 2-1.

Along the left side of the inside bets are the dozen bets. This bet also pays 2 to 1 and exists as a low dozen (1-12), middle dozen (13-24), or high dozen (25-36).

Even bets are not necessarily bets on even numbers. These bets exist in three categories: Even or odd, color, or low and high. In other words, you choose between even numbers or odd, red or black, or high or low (19-36 or 1-18). If you win you’ll win whatever you bet, a 1-1 payout.

I won't take roulette advice from anyone that believes that.

Really? What about 1 3 5 7 9 etc.

Or 2 4 6 8 10 etc.

Have ever even see a roulette layout?
