I'm going back back back...
Booked my next trip to Vegas. Got round trip for under $200! Usually I try to manage these with 1 day of vacation from work, and I realized this time that a Saturday morning flight and a Tuesday morning flight were the cheapest way to make that happen...way cheaper than Friday morning/Monday morning or even Thursday night/Monday morning. At least this time.Anyway, stoked. Just gotta polish up my blackjack skills since I'm rusty. And also figure out where I'm staying. Going to try to take my business downtown this year, but I don't have any standing free room offers as I haven't put in a lot of action down there.
Current plan is to call up a couple of places and try to figure out how much action in craps I need to give to get my 3 nights comped at the end of the stay (Sat/Sun/Mon). After dropping some action at the Elco and The D on a previous trip, I got some hosts sending me business cards in the mail. So I'll start there.

Letting go of unread posts...
Recently I started posting sporadically at another internet forum and realized how much I miss the gambling-related chit chat at this board. I had been wanting to come back and participate but was holding on to the fantasy of going back and reading everything since I had left, which was 72 pages deep via the "Recent Posts" function and dated back to August. Just not going to happen!Plus I realize now I don't have enough time to read everything here anyway. I will try to stick to Blackjack/card counting threads, with the occasional non-DI craps thread depending on the content. So anyway, good to see y'all again. I just clicked the "mark all as read" button and it feels so good :).

I got hitched!
After a few days of married life, so far so good.In the spirit of my hopeful-anonymity on this site, here is an appropriately vague but still pretty sweet picture from our amazing night:

When the truth is, I miss you. Yeah the truth is, that I miss you, so
Between- trying to actually work hard at my day job to get my performance up to spec
- getting outside a lot since it's summer (camping, backpacking, cycling, etc.)
- reading a lot more than I have recently, fiction and non
- and along those lines, reading and learning a bit more about investing and asset allocation
I haven't been doing much gambling, or reading about gambling, or perusing various online gambling forums. I miss the conversations here, and I miss hitting up the BJ tables looking for that big score (or medium score, really). For Xenu's sake, I never even posted a recap of my WoVCon /// trip! Anyway, trying to carve up some time in my days to get back involved here. I probably won't read every single unread thread since I left, since that currently stands at a (conevienent!) count of 50 pages (even WITH a bunch of threads I've blocked).
But anyway. Miss you guys :).

Just read any thread Ahigh posted on and you will be enlightened !
I can't believe you never wrote up your Wovcon experience! The story of the fastest and most ridiculous back-off in history needs to be recorded for all time:-)

Phew!
Just caught up on about a month's worth of forum posts. I didn't read every post, but probably more than 75%.I'll try not to fall so far behind again! I like this forum, I feel it's a positive contribution to my life. But I need to do a better job at picking and choosing the threads that are important to me - during the catch-up phase I started using the "block" feature to block threads on topics that aren't that interesting to me - like Baccarat, VP, sports betting, etc. Hopefully I can remain diligent on this and still contribute to the threads I find interesting.

There are more than a few topics that I have no interest in but I don't block anything. We have some high caliber posters who I think are worth reading no matter the subject and they seldom disappoint.
How can you miss the 350 threads on dice control? It's all the rage :)
I'm sad to say I read almost every dice control thread. I skimmed pieces of some of them, like when superrick starts talking my eyes just glaze over.
1BB, that's a good point. Sometimes I just scroll down on threads I don't think I'll have any interest in, just to see who's talking. Maybe I'll un-block now that I'm all caught up.
I started blocking about 2 months ago, and I'm hooked on doing that now.
Block block block! I have 2000 threads blocked, probably
70% of the threads that come up. Its the only way to
control this place.

Keeping up with forums in detail is like an unpaid job...blah
Participate when you can...the forum will still be here. :)
