When I was in Vegas I always parked at harrah's and the NY NY, they seemed to have easy access from the freeway, and I felt safe there, but maybe I am just naive.

The Venetian does have the worst Valet on the planet. It makes no sense. Its deep inside the garage and you have a long walk to the casino. Not to mention even when its slow, it takes half an hour to get your car. The vast majority at other casinos are great, however.

Palazzo has a fantastic garage that is easily accessible from the road that runs between the Venetian/Sands complex and the Wynn. Easily my favorite garage in Vegas. Convenient if all you need to do is go to Palazzo, and from there you can walk to Venetian.

Lifted from an article at Concierge.com

1. Don't use the ATM in the casino. (high fees)
2. Don't dress suttily. (instead dress "sexily". Apparently, there is a difference)
3. Don't wear painful shoes. (lotsa walking)
4. Don't get married at the Chapel of Love. (go to the Little White Chapel instead).
5. Don't choose the cheapest buffet in town. (go to the Wynn instead)
6. Don't log on in your room. (High fees. Free hotspots exist)
7. Don't drink before your massage. (you'll hurl)
8. Don't see Cris Angel's Believe. (Res ipsa loquitur)
9. Don't arrive at the airport 30 minutes before you flight. (You risk missing it)
10. Don't stay up all night then catch your flight. (instead, book an evening flight)

Don't Jaywalk you could get killed. So many people just dart across the street when there is no crosswalk.
Don't try to hail a taxi while walking on the Strip. You see it all the time and they get pissed when the taxi driver says he can't.

don't eat something using your fingers while playing vp or slot machines. i got a mild stomach flu last trip eating crispy cream donuts while playing the machines. was out about day and a half with runs, slight fever, etc. i usually wash my hands every chance i get but couldn't resist snacking on a couple donuts i bought to take to the room. also remember some machines with very greasy buttons at the orleans. my fingers kept slipping off the buttons. yuck! had to move several times before finding a clean machine. actually chips aren't much cleaner either.

1. Don't use the ATM in the casino. (high fees)

Bank of America, Chase, and Citi are the 3 largest banks in the U.S. Between them, they have exactly one ATM between WynnCore and Mandalay Bay (BoA has one in the shops at Caesars). The max fee for a "foreign" ATM transaction using a debit card is about $10. It's not worth it to go elsewhere. What am I gonna do if I'm at Palazzo, walk 20 feet to a casino ATM and pay a 0.5% fee when I take out two grand, or walk to Caesars?

Alternatively, if you only need a little pocket money, you can usually get up to $50 "cash back" on a debit card purchase at a Walgreens, etc.

3. Don't wear painful shoes. (lotsa walking)

Who wears painful shoes when they're NOT in Vegas?

6. Don't log on in your room. (High fees. Free hotspots exist)

I agree the fees are way out of proportion to the cost, but it's a matter of convenience.

When you turn into Bellagio off of Flamingo, do you then turn right to get to this little parking area being spoken of?

I would rather walk 15 minutes to my car in a garage than wait 10 minutes for a valet pick-up. I usually have my golf clubs in the trunk too and I am overly anxious about them when entrusting my car to a stranger.

There's no such thing as a clean machine. And casino chips are every bit as germ laden as money, and money is the dirtiest thing we come in contact with, even dirtier than a toilet seat.

Toilet seats tend to be one of the cleanest things you can find in the bathroom... the sink, towel dispenser, the floor and the taps are normally dirtier than a toilet seat.

Reminds me of that scene in the Sopranos where Paulie explains he wears loafers because the shoelaces on regular shoes drag on the piss soaked floor of the mens room. Graphic but true.

yes, i think the floor right by the entrance to the mens restroom has got to be the dirtiest most germ laden area. at least they try to clean the restroom floor once in a while. but rarely the carpet right at the entrance.
