I know this is gonna sound like a spam post. Sigh, what can I do?

I got turned on to this deal at another forum, checked it out, and purchased it. Then they had a thing where I can get a partial refund if I get other people to also purchase it. So, me being the cheap bastard that I am, I'm teling you people about the deal. Thanks in advance.

I hope this doesn't violate any rules, but here goes....

Here's the url: https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/366078?ref=conf-jp&rpi=70818524

Here's the details:

Pay $15 for a $30 voucher to Rock & Rita's - a cool looking restaurant inside Circus Circus.

I checked out the menu. It should be easy for me to eat alone and have the bill be in the $28-$30 range, making the voucher a good deal. For what it's worth, I think if I was eating without the voucher, I'd go a little cheaper, but the bill would be about $20. So even then the voucher is worthwhile.

The $30 voucher is valid until November 20, 2012. However, if you can't use it by then, you've got until 7/18/17 (Five years from today!) to redeem it at it's $15 purchase price.

Bottom line, if you'll be in Vegas for G2E, or Hot Blonde's weigh in, or any other reason for the next few months, get this voucher.

For the record, I had plans on visiting Circus Circus anyway to check out the Chuck Jones Experience. While there, I'll have a nice, discounted dinner! Woo hoo!

Yeah, there are zillions of these affinity marketing "mini Groupon" sites that want to sign you up and have you then contact your friends. Ever hear of multi level marketing? They are trying to buy your friends from you but your friends will soon get tired of you posting these rather silly coupons.

In Miami, young girls are all going to the same nightclubs, same hairdressers, same nail salons, same this and that due to these socially marketed coupons.

I hear ya. They actually tried to make it "easy" for me by showing me a composed email message, and just asking for email addresses. I'm not gonna fall for THAT little trick!

For the record, on the other site where I learned about this deal, the poster has a habit of posting these deals without going to much detail.

I have no desire to be "that guy" which is why I went into more detail, provided several links, including the link to the Chuck Jones exhibit, which is the only other reason I'd be going to Circus Circus.

I get those deals from a radio station, but I've never used one, so I didn't know they ask you to pass them on. But if they ever offered something I was sure I'd use, I'd jump on it!

Do you know how long you have to pass the deal, or would I have to buy it now and hope to use it before it expired? I can't imagine my husband would enjoy Chuck Jones and fried pickles as much as I do, but if I went with my sister we'd be all over that! I'm probably going to Vegas with my husband in September, but I've only gone with my sister once. We tend to go to Atlantic City, which is closer.

How long to "pass the deal" ?

Do you mean to purchase it, or to give it to a firend, or what?

For the record, when I bought it a few hours ago, it said "1 Day Remaining" to purchase. It STILL says that. I wonder if that'll change to X Hours left eventually, or what.

I had the option of purchasing additional vouchers for friends.

I don't know if I am required to use my voucher personally. My name is one it. I WILL use it myself, but don't know if that's required.

The printed voucher indicates the purchase date as well as the $30 promo valid thru date or 11/20/12. The fine print also includes the 7/18/17 expiration for the $15 paid value.

Does that answer the question?

Yes--I wanted to know if the deadline for you to get credit for our purchase was the same as for you to buy it. How do I buy it so that you get the refund for my purchase?

Oh. I actually don't know if those two dealines are the same. But for ME to get credit for your purchase, just use the link I provided:

Here's the url: https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/366078?ref=conf-jp&rpi=70818524

The url contains stuff to allow their computer to go right to the deal in question, as well as letting them know I sent you.

I.E. I'm fairly sure that "366078" refers to the Rock & Rita deal, while "70818524" is an internal number indicating me.

Yeah, but the deal itself worked well, right?
I mean, you saw the movie at a discount, which was the goal of the deal, right?

I won't say it's spam, and I won't flag your post.

But you might see me posting links to sign up for deals on shoes, clothes, makeup and other things. You don't have to purchase anything, just sign up through a link. Of course, so far I've thought that was too intrusive to even send it to "friends" on facebook. But then there was this post, so.... :P

I just checked again. There are 22 hours 35 minutes to go.

Sounds like the deadline is 5:00am Vegas time, tomorrow.

I'm still trying to find out if I can get a chance to go before the expiration date, so thanks for the update on the deadline!

The Chuck Jones attraction is PERFECT for my second son, but since he's only 17 he is not the ideal Vegas travelling companion. He wants to make animated films and already has on in his head, waiting to learn how to make it. If I get to take him there, you should get a commission for pointing it out. ;-)

I understand.

But I'd like to point out that although the $30 value expires on 11/20/12, you can still redeem it for the full $15 purchase price until 7/18/2017!

" he fine print also includes the 7/18/17 expiration for the $15 paid value."

that exasperation date is as valid as a lifetime guarantee on a Ginzo knife LOL Only buy a coupon if you are gonna use it right away. And i mean right away. The business might be honest, but scam artists are not. Common scam is to get a restaurant to sign on for a discount coupon, for say limited to 55 for a benefit book for the local school. The book is to have $100 in saving . Then the scammer prints 10,000 copies and sells them as cheap as he can. Guess what happens when 50 or 60 peoples start using that coupon everyday.

Or the business changes hands. Restaurants do that all the time and the name and goodwill are a package deal. Or management decides, we are done with this. Not saying you can get some grat deals with coupons. Just use them fairly soon.
