Quote: CrapsForeverHas anyone ever asked to look at all the cards in the Deck before playing Blackjack to ensure all the right cards were in the Deck?
I didn't read the whole thread, so if someone has already made this point I apologize, but the simple answer is to wait for a table to be opened, or the cards changed... and watch.
Still, as terrible as the table games offerings are in Florida, I strongly doubt there is any outright cheating going on there. Chances are they're ripping off the public the old-fashioned way.
Yes, probably so. However, the issue, once having been raised, should be further evaluated after confirming whether pre-shuffled cards are used or what. I've never heard of a casino saying "trust us" about the cards. They should be spread, shuffled and loaded into the shoe.Quote: LonesomeGamblerI strongly doubt there is any outright cheating going on there. Quote: LonesomeGamblerAs I already mentioned several pages ago, these casinos use pre-boxed, pre-shuffled cards that are spread face-down. Feel free to doubt me on that, but it's clear that there are people on these boards who live close enough to check on it. Unless the policy has changed in the past 6 months or so, this will still be the case.
I must have missed that comment. That's what I get for skimming.
Anyway, I can't imagine a casino obliging a request to sort and fan even a double deck game just because a player requests it. You'd have to be a pretty high roller asking at an otherwise dead table to have any of the floor people where I work take the request very seriously.
I would think it would be just as likely to happen as getting the ok to come into the pit and check that the peaker was working correctly. Not gonna happen. But hey, YMMV.
No I neveer have. But, I have opened several tables early in the AM, and "Witnessed the cards". This would be useful in, AHEM, California.
First trip - (30 hands lost in a row + other insanity)
Next trip - lost 18 hands in a row on 3 separate occasions

You are CURSED @ Revel.
I don't want to hear/read any statistics to explain this. There is no scientific way to explain it!

As the Fonz would say "Exactamundo!"
I am not sure I can go back to playing at a smoking casino now that I have breathed in the fresh air at Revel - ughhhhh
Anyone know any witchcraft spells to release me from this curse?
And, I do continue to believe that variance is dead at Revel - I need someone to go there and resurrect it

Yes, indeed. Spell removal is dependent upon various herbs, incense, incantations while boxing the compass, the attentions of an amorous blonde and the consumption of gin. If you are in a hurry you may dispense with the herbs, incense and incantations.
Bump.
One day I played 31 hands without winning - 30 losses, 1 push. (Odds of about 1 in 10 billion).
Here's the funny part. I was just learning BJ, and trying a strategy where I would leave a table if I lost the first three hands.
So I went to 10 different tables - 3 hands each (The one time I pushed, I played 4 hands).
So 30 hands lost at minimum bet ($5) = -$150.
It was frustrating to do so much scouting & traveling, but also I didn't lose much.
Since I was playing on 10 different tables (I forget if they were all in different casinos), I doubt that I was being cheated (especially for $5).
Called it quits on BJ for the day.

On the flip side. Sometimes I am freaky lucky, but I don't think I've ever won more than 16-18 hands in a row.
