So you feel you have a pretty good handle on what "moderates" are apt to vote for? Really Barbara? Really kiddo?!?!

I think Christie will show up reasonably well in polling within a field of 15 or 20. After it gets down to two or three, not much at all. "So Guv, why are you running? What is it that you believe in?"

Really, DD, I do think Christie is a viable choice for moderates. Whether they're "apt" to choose him against any other given opponent remains to be seen, whether in the primaries or in the general election.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

As Candidate for Governor Christie promised a union hall full of cops and firemen that "pensions were a sacred oath" that he would never violate - Once elected he reduced retiree pensions, increased the years of service necessary for retirement and increased the rate of contribution by over 17%.

As Candidate for Re-election he said his greatest achievement was when he provided “real, long-term fiscal stability for future generations of New Jerseyans.” - Once re-elected he declared near bankruptcy and blamed it on the same pension system he spent 4 years "saving".

As Candidate for President he said it was either bankruptcy and nothing for retirees or higher contributions for less benefits. NJ (like all States) is a Constitutional Sovereign and exempt from Bankruptcy Laws.

This man is caught lying within the lies he lied about. He has a history of deception fraud, self-dealing, nepotism and vindictiveness. He has surrounded himself with self-dealing, derelict and devious perjurers.

Christie claimed that a mid level manager submerged trains and deviated from the NJT Action plan without telling senior management – E-Mails to his appointee James Weinstein exposed him as a liar. Christie was lying to protect an incompetent person, when caught he doubled down on the lie and said the mid level employee could not be fired because of Civil Service rules. NJ Transit is not covered by Civil Service in any way.

In fact the only appointee Christie has ever labeled incompetent was Brett Schundler. When the State of NJ lost 400 million dollars in Federal Education grants (because of Christie’s vindictiveness), the liar accused Obama and Rahm Emanuel of short changing NJ. When Emanuel produced videotape debunking Christie’s lie, he called his own Education Commissioner Brett Schundler incompetent. Schundler produced e-mails establishing without question the fact that NJ lost that 400 million dollars based in Christie’s anti-teacher vendetta.

When he started his assault on public employees he lied about Assemblywoman Sheila Oliver, claiming she never bothered to talk to him about his purported “toolkit” to help local government take pay and benefits away from workers. Ms. Oliver produced phone records and e-mails proving she made repeated attempts to meet with him on the issue.

Christie claimed that he was in constant contact with Acting Governor Sweeney while he was vacationing during our State of Emergency. Sweeney produced phone records showing that he didn’t hear from Christie until 3 days after the emergency was declared.

When asked how he and the Lieutenant Governor were both out of State at the same time he claimed that Lt Governor Guadagno’s father had a medical emergency, as it turns out she scheduled her vacation in November with Christie’s approval

Christie claimed that the Fort Lee lane closures were part of a legitimate traffic study…time for some truth serum in Drumthwacket.

His dishonesty is disturbing enough - the fact that he runs around branding people who tell truth "liars" is the mark of a maniacal sociopath.

On the other hand, maybe the currently vague "plain spoken regular guy" national image will get some more legs to go further than I thought, because frothing at the mouth purple-faced civil servants characterizing him as "assaulting" the oppressed downtrodden public employees and their unions is something that will definitely tend to be enormously helpful to the Chris Christie campaign nationally. And they will have no clue just how much it really does that as they do it.

Governor Christie's 2013 election campaign owes two law firms more than $800,000, a new disclosure report shows.

The report, dated Jan. 15, shows the debts were incurred on Dec. 31, and the campaign owes Patton Boggs in Newark nearly $509,000 and Stroz Friedberg of Dallas $294,000.

The campaign finance report shows that Christie's 2013 campaign had a $44,284 balance on Dec. 31. The website politicalmoneyline.com first reported on the campaign's debt.

The New Jersey Republican State Committee, which Christie also controls, also reported owing $400,000 in legal fees, according to a report earlier this week by the Philadelphia Inquirer.

He can't even balance HIS budget.

Maybe he can tell the law firms a story... that due to the fact he owes other organizations money, he will have to miss his payments to them.

Isn't it ironic New Jersey has experienced 8 straight credit downgrades under Christie, and no one is appointing an emergency management team for this state!

Christie, Rendell, McGreevey, all Governor's are whores to big business. Balanced budget? Since when, where? Maybe Avalon NJ. Irony in NJ does not exist, especially in AC. The truant officer for AC High School was found to be truant from his job for weeks by an outside new station. I find that ironic. NJ finds it ok plus a pension. Scum Fn bags.

The truth is that your slimy, corrupt party created a thoroughly unsustainable pension system and now absolutely refuses to take the needed step-401k's-to fix it.

Well I'm a Republican, but pension reform is an entirely different discussion, and has no bearing on Christie's character.

Christie is unfit for office, he obviously has severe emotional problems, he weighs 400 pounds for pete's sake.

I doubt you are a GOPer if you think his weight is a reason for his not being electable. Tell us, who is your ideal GOP candidate? And who can beat Hillary??

Shoot, evenbob thinks Hillary is too ugly to be elected. Sounds like rightwing reasoning, as Evenbob is not the leftwing afaik. Or is your point something else?
