He said he kept testing negative, so the virus....

That seems quick.

What's the current turnaround time for test results?

Fastest I've heard is Trumps, where he claims he took the test late Friday night and was cleared early Sat. morning.
Its ridiculous to think anyone is tested each time they enter a hospital. Just use some common sense and do the math. Hundreds of hospital employees, dozens of EMTs, ect, ect.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

Fastest one is down to 15 minutes now. A week ago I think it was like 3-4 hours.

He was a really serious person, a casino employee, and worked as a fire fighter/emt when not there. Big picture, I assume mostly true. The details perhaps from me retelling a story are the problem I'd say, lost in translation.

I have a friend who works in a hospital and told me the following:

If you come in with the virus then you report it, get paid for not working, keep your mortgage, etc. While I'd definitely say that this a good thing if you come in with a broken leg then to bad..no special benefits for you.

Can you please stop starting so many different threads about this? I Have no issues with your content, I would like to hear what you have to say, I just really prefer not to have to click on 50 different threads in order to read it.

You don't even have to have the virus.

If you claim to have been traveling in a high risk area, or claim to have potential contact with an infected person, you are required to self quarantine for 14 days.

This is a public safety issue, a broken leg does not put others at risk. If you break your leg that is what sick time is for (which I guarantee your friend accrues if he works for a hospital).

Where I work if you are at risk (from potential exposure or travel) you are required to self-quarantine for 14 days after returning home (you have to use your sick days, you don't get special leave....) This is the standard requirement I believe in pretty much every government position and most medical positions.

Really Every Employer that is not a work from home employer should require this (if there is a chance for direct or indirect contact with anyone other than yourself). But, really only governments and many medical employers seem to actually enforcing it.

I think restaurants should be forced to enforce it, but that would be politically unpopular.....

See CDC for more guidance:

I can sum up the Corona Virus.

Who cares? You live or you die those are the only two outcomes. We are all going to die so what does it matter if it is tomorrow or 30 years?

That's almost like saying there is 50/50 chance you'll be struck by lightning the moment you exit your house, you either will or you won't or what does it matter if you decide to take a bath with your toaster positioned on the edge of the bathtub, we're all going to die eventually so what the big deal is.
