Local has terrible 8/5 DDB progressives. I never play them but one is currently pushing $12K on the $1. Return is 101.5% if I did the math right. Curious what bankroll would be needed if someone was to commit to it?

1800 units to chase a 2300x 1/31k cycle feels like high RoR, friend.
I have no idea if I'm using the calculators right, but I think there may be a missing zero.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I found a $5 VP machine locally with a $20K JP. How many hands would I have to play to win 5 Royals?

I think the number is at least 5, and goes up significantly if you're running bad.

… would have a ROR of ~76%!
$90,000 …would be ~6.6% ROR.
Keep in mind that the ROR calculator on WoO, which is what I used, is based on playing this game “forever”, as if the $12K RF won’t change.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any software that calculates ROR before hitting a RF, which would give you a more accurate figure for this scenario. The bankroll required “should be” less for a comparable ROR %. How much less, I couldn’t say…
To the OP, best of luck if you try for it… Hope it’s still up for you!
It’s a dog eat dog world.
…Or maybe it’s the other way around!
