It's 5% with a maximum of $4, as they take the rake in $1 increments--at $10, $30, $50, and $80. And you don't have to pay a dollar for any stupid jackpot. So given that all Harrah's properties charge a $5 rake, 10%, with a $1 jackpot drop, the Venetian is by far the best place to play on the Strip.

It sure is!

Comps, one earns $1.50 per hour at the Venetian?

Wow. That's not bad at all.

Is it the same for $1/$2?

I believe so. And comps were earned at $1/hr last time I asked, but they fiddle with the comp rates quite a bit. I like to use my comps at the Grand Lux Cafe, which is the best casino coffee shop in town IMHO.

No jackpot = goooood. Up here in Washington one of the Tribal casinos now rakes $2 for jackpots (put does pay $100 every half hour to high hand so it's not all bad)

Everyone likes the Fiji water at Venetian for some reason too. I still don't get that.

It's SQUARE water. That's why it comes in that special bottle. All other bottled water is round.

As a pro poker player living in vegas, I respectfully agree and disagree with this statement and just wanted to add some color as well.

Agree - Venetian in general is a great room. Great that they have no jackpot drop.

Disagree - Although harrah's properties charge $1 more for rake the play is FAR softer in these rooms (some better than others) and it is worth the additional $1 rake. Second, the rake % at Venetian is 10%, not 5%.

For reviews of poker rooms I find allvegaspoker.com to be pretty accurate and an overall great resource =)
GL at the tables!

I don't think you can beat the water called "Smart Water". I had one of those at work the other day. As I was leaving the office I had some left and poured the rest in the plants on my way out. When I got in the next day the plants had completed the weekly shift schedules and had started on payroll ! :)

Nah--they had just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express the night before. :P
