It sound like Wild Hold 'em Fold 'em you write about in 2001.
...As of February, 2001, it is at about half the Las Vegas casinos.

By 2008, it was pulled out of the majority of casinos that once had them, as was mini-Pai Gow, Let it Ride, etc.
Went into complete life-support mode, and Galaxy bought it up and did a resurrection.
Resuscitation, really. Oxygen mask, IV drip - CLEAR! [bang!] beep...beep...beep, it's back.

Yup, we have it at the Fiesta. Dealt it last week on a relief string.
And...in order to stay in a hand, players have to bet after they've bet the ANTE, and THEN Raise double after that, for a total of FOUR units to play out any hand.
Some players like it, and it has a small loyal following.

Hold em Fold em was a knock-out if you could put together a string of deuce rich hands that are sure winners. You could make big money quick.

Yes....it could dump the house, or take income from the players. A pretty volitile table. Three-Card poker too, with quarter action or better.
Both profitable and some risk, - in either direction. I can tap into a table and see one guy with $2,000 in black and green on a $200 buy-in, smiling, and another player seeing that all, and chasing $100 after $100 bill try to experience that he winner had. Granted, all games (BJ, etc) have swings and volitiity, but not the way some poker variants can sometimes seem to behave. Look, it's gambling.
We are in the gambling buiness, - essentially and exactly.

Anyone know which Vegas casinos still have this game? I used to play it at Palace Station when it was Wild Hold Em Fold Em.

I played some version of it at Harrah's Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago.
