Quote: WizardMy new keno game is ready for you to test drive. I welcome all bug reports and other comments.
It works fine (so far). Is it possible to make the "way" bets, that I don't know how to bet, but always see on the posted big winning tickets?
-- Will I get a report of how each turned out?
-- is it possible to include an option to cut to the chase and see the outcome without sitting through the "ball selections"?
Oh wait, I just hit an 8-spot on a 15 number ticket! Never mind, Keno is awesome.
Quote: AyecarumbaI'm in the middle of running a large number of "Autoplay" games.

Yeah, that would be cool. Also, while autoplaying, would be nice to have a counter of games played/games remaining.
Is the casino credit feature on autoplay by design? It played out the 10 games and let my account go negative.
I can't speak to the comment made about the sound, as this computer I am on right now has no speakers.
Quote: AyecarumbaSo, 500 games of 8-spot at $1 each netted me a $902 profit. Keno is awesome!
Yeah I had my bankroll up to more than $1000 (so $500 profit) but now I'm down to $300! Damn it!
also, keno is one game i have never played in real life. i almost forgot it existed. i will have to buy a ticket the next time i find myself in the Taj. Oh wait, that will never happen.
1.) make the red X's Bolder
2.) allow a 2 second pause (randomized a bit) between autoplays.
I hit 8/15 twice got bold and put 505 games on a 7-spot... hit a 6/7 but wound up with a 446 balance (480-481 would be nominal)
when I hit the 6/7 my balance at that point was 489. So not too bad.
Very well done props to you/JB.
PS: running the 446 balance, Film after 11
(just for amusement)

Oops. I guess you could say it is by design (since that's what happens), but it is not by intention. Thanks for pointing it out; I'll fix it.
Someone mentioned that the sound icon doesn't work: note that all sounds are disabled in Internet Explorer because it's a lousy browser which doesn't play by the rules. In other up-to-date browsers you can disable or enable sounds by clicking on the speaker icon in the lower left. (When the red circle is there, sounds are disabled.)
I'd of liked an indication of House Edge is X percent right on the screen.

I'm glad it now plays any amount between 1-10 units, except I noticed something strange:
Ascending from 1: 1-2-3-5-6-8-9-10
Descending from 10: 10-9-7-6-4-3-2-1
So you can play any amount, but it misses 4 and 7 on the way up, and 8 and 5 on the way down.
EDIT: Never mind, must have been something funky on my end because it's working fine, now! Great game!
Quote: MrRalphIf you were duplicating a video keno game then they are much to low. The video keno pay tables are much better except at the Ceasars propertiues in AC. The only decent one you can find there is in the Gamemaker machines and I have only seen them at the Showboat.
Wait a minute...hold on...wait...
Are you saying that a 95% ER on a Pick-10 Video Keno game is, "Much too low?"
If you will tell me where a better Video Keno game (absent a Progressive) can be found from an ER standpoint, you will be my best friend.
Quote: MrRalphHey Maybe I am looking at the overall payoff improperly but I usually play multi card and 4 card on the Game king machines. The top payouts for a 7 of 7 is 7000 and 6 of 7 is 400. I did not look at them all. I know an 8 of 8 is 10,000 and a 7 of 8 is 1650 8 of 9 is 4700 and a 9 of 9 is 10,000. I guess it is just different than what I am use to seeing.
Top payouts don't have as much of an impact as the lower ones, because the lower ones are more likely to occur. To compare two paytables you need to calculate the return, which you can do with the Wizard's keno calculator.
Quote: MrRalphYes, unfortunately the lower ones do occur more. But just as in video poker if you do not hit some of the biger ones or a 4 of a kind or royals that sesssion will be a bust.
JFTR, even though you are now unsure, I wasn't doubting you. I'd have just felt kind of foolish for playing the VK games that I choose to play. I know I am at -ER (absent Progressives) but I play because I enjoy VK...and I typically play very little money.
The best way to look at the payout schedule is in terms of how many shots you want to get to hit 7/8 or 8/8 balls, or what have you. For example, if you have a Keno Game that returns the bet on a certain result, then that gives you time at machine.
For example, let's say that all VK games paid as close to 95% (but just under) as possible. I'm going to create a Pick-7 game where you only win if you Pick 7 and everything else is a loss. You get paid 38930-FOR-1 for Seven Hits. That's an ER of 0.949991506953532.
See, just to have a 50% chance of hitting it, though, would require:
(1-0.000024402556048)^28405 = 0.49999205931699686
So, that's 28,405 credits, whether it be quarters, dollars, whatever.
Your chances of hitting it, if you put in the amount to be won:
(1-0.000024402556048)^38930 = 0.386739825237404---1-0.386739825237404 = 0.613260174762596 or 61.326%
So you would have a 61.326% chance of that hitting if you ran through the amount to be won.
SUCKS!!!
A higher payout on the Top Pays does not always mean that the payouts are weighted heavily towards the higher payouts, but without knowing the specific probabilities, there's really no way to know. The cool thing about a Straight Keno game, or even the less complicated variations, is that it's not especially difficult to figure out what/where the ER is on the game. Is it top-heavy, bottom-heavy, moderate? That makes it really easy to pick a machine that suits your tastes.
However with a chance of hitting of:
(1-0.000024402556048)^50 = 0.9987806013816776---1-0.9987806013816776 = 0.0012193986183224314 or 1/0.0012193986183224314 or 1:820.08
Betting fifty total credits, I'd rather play just about anything else!
You could also have a Pick-10 Game where hits of anywhere from 3-10 credits all paid 2-FOR-1 for a 95.876% return.
Most people wouldn't play that one, either.
One other point noted here is that Lounge keno usually offers wagers upto 15 spots with ways formation. VK is almost universally configured as 2 to 10 spots, with some offering 3 or 3.5 units return on a single spot. VK almost never adds ways due to programming complexities. If I might offer compromise to these opposing styles, it would be to limit the VK offering to 9 spots with various "House Ways" like 2-3-4 and 3x3, or Specials 2/2, 3/3, and 4/4. Have the 9-spot pay 100G's with a 95% pay.
I just sat down and decided to play Wizard's Keno game for fun, and I proceeded to lose Fifty in a Row on a Pick-14. The probability of such is:
(0.068519123217540 + 0.176293994111795 + 0.259044236245903 + 0.242206360889919 + 0.151972618597597)^50
0.004620568285741666 or 1/0.004620568285741666 = 1 in 216.42
I'm going to see how much worse it gets just for fun...
Fifty is as bad as it gets, the next game was zero hits for a $100 win.
Quote: Mission146Fifty is as bad as it gets, the next game was zero hits for a $100 win.
lol
I quit after getting my 7th 6 out 7.
Total left in the game $11,610.
Things that don't feel right when playing.
Clear button & mouse clicking on the game board do the same thing.
No way to flip numbers from selected to unselected one at a time.
Repeat button should really be a rebet & play button.
One last thing, the autoplay does work perfectly IF you click on the red x and it changes to a green checkmark.
