I have to echo the sentiments that there is nothing much you can do until your friend admits the problem. Maybe an intervention would help, I don't know. As someone else said, I would trust GA to give better advice than you'll find here.
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

You are a good friend. Blackjack might be the most addicting game of all. The winning and losing is constantly working on ones emotions.

So, Im going to give you an odd suggestion. Qfit. Verite is a blackjack game that can be dowloaded to his computer. Norm states it's exactly like playing in a casino. Ive ask him 2 or 3 times, are you sure? I see no reason to doubt his word.

Point is, your friend could identify some of the glaring mistakes he is making. One might compare it to filtered cigarettes for a smoker.

Norm and his group will say 10k hands is too small of a sample. But if he will play out 10k hands exactly the way he plays in a casino? He will learn the most important factor in the game. Himself.

Yet another player latched on to me at some point recently. As usual, turned out to be a mistake. Couldn’t help the player and ended up a complete waste of time and energy. Player had already dumped a huge amount elsewhere, and at the casino where I was playing at my private table I helped the player get up well over a hundred K no less than three times, but each time after I went to sleep the player kept going until morning and dumped it all. Notwithstanding a final monster run the player left in the red. After left I tried to talk to the player and player kept saying, “Why can’t I stop when I am ahead?”

Besides the tragicomic comments the player was making while was losing at the tables (“I lost ______. I neglected my business, my clients, everything. What am I doing here.”) I ran into the host I had set the player up with, and host was saying that talked to the player after left town and finally had to say to the player, “I’m just a host, not a therapist.” 😟 😅 Sorry, but how tragicomic can you get.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people. https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/betting-systems/33908-the-adventures-of-mdawg/

The most addictive game of all? I guess maybe for some. It usually only takes me doubling eleven against a dealer six, catching a nine and the dealer drawing to 21 once to nullify any desire to play Blackjack I might have for ten years, or so.

Maybe it's because I don't really get that much out of winning and losing seriously P!$$3$ me off?

Have him ban himself from all the casinos in his area. That will do it for the casino blackjack playing,

Haha!!! As if any of you go out of your way to identify and remove self-excluded people absent them hitting a jackpot you can void.

Hey it's no different then when you think you got a good deal on a car that's worth $24,000 easily and you made a deal for $8,000 and the guy says he'll give you the paperwork at a later time as soon as he goes in and gets it. And on the way home as you're driving, you get pulled over and arrested for GTA because you got just a little bit greedy on your deal. No darn different.

You know what: I’m going to give you credit for basically owning it. That was better than I expected…I’d already started researching instances in addition to the three or four I had off the top of my head.
