It wasn't a PM, though, so no further action will be taken at this time, especially since this is the first occurrence since my announcement.

To be linked with a great hockey player and human being is an honor.
Mario Lemieux screwed me over personally because of his bad back and he is a big baby. He had us hassled to lose our seats at a concert so he could stand by the rail.Quote: Lemieux66To be linked with a great hockey player and human being is an honor.

Wrestling observer.com board. Rarely post though and different name.
I must have missed something, you're a hockey player? If so I am confused, because you said something about not knowing how to ride a bike? Simply because of falling off, giving up, and going back and playing Nintendo.Quote: Lemieux66To be linked with a great hockey player and human being is an honor.

Read the last few pages. There was something said about how my name here became my identity, and Lemieux played hockey. So there you go.
can I just get a yes or no to my other question ?Quote: Lemieux66Read the last few pages. There was something said about how my name here became my identity, and Lemieux played hockey. So there you go.

Never played hockey in my life.

I wanted to be, but someone attempted to use my credit card. Not sure how they got the info but the card is shut down. Because of that, can't go this because of room security deposits. Next week I'm going.

Just a guess, but I would look at the Shift Manager at Borgata if you ever used the card there.

I have, but that's kind of a shot in the dark. He doesn't have access to my card and I haven't stayed at borgata since the whole comp thing went down.

Can't tonight. My credit card info got stolen last week and people tried to use my card(luckily it looked suspicious and was rejected. Who tries to buy 500 dollars worth of shit at Family Dollar) so I couldn't book a room with no security hold. Next week for sure though.
They try buying gift cards at self-service checkouts.Quote: Lemieux66Can't tonight. Good thing HSBC is incredibly suspicious then.

You know you can use cash for room deposits, right?

I tried that at TR but they said no.

I have never once in my life been told no to a cash deposit.

Probably because Revel called around and warned them about you!

All joking aside, I have tried in the past to use a cash deposit at Ballys and I was told no.
Imagine how much worse this would be if it happened while you were travelling...
Quote: AxiomOfChoiceThis is why it is a very good idea to have at least two credit cards, even if you only use one of them.

You're right. I did learn that it's dangerous to send credit card info online through wifi. That may be a bit of common knowledge I didn't know though.

It really shouldn't be dangerous to do that. All the encryption should be happening on your end.
I seriously doubt that that's how your info got stolen.

The attempts were made in New Jersey so you're probably right. I just didn't physically lose my card in NJ so I have no idea.

I think that was you. It makes no sense that it was anyone at Borgata time wise.
Bad excuse ( are you a BAC player or something? They are always making excuses to hide also.)Quote: Lemieux66
You can go to Walmart, 7-11, or where ever and get a Green Dot card or any other type of Pre paid card, it takes 10 min to set it up.
I do believe you, that they don't like cash deposits in AC. I have ran into this at the GN, they had to call management when my GF forgot her CC. They told her they would not do it again for her. She has chairman and was even on full RFB.
Anyways I can't do it next week, I'm out of here Monday.

Because I had to put in my work schedule for last week on Sunday so I just can't change things on a whim. I also go virtually every week so I don't mind taking a week off. Also, my DVR was pretty full lol

I don't know how I lived without a DVR in the past. I guess there was a VCR but it just isnt the same.

The DVR is an absolutely crucial thing in my home. How do people watch things live?

I don't even have a TV subscription any more. If I want to watch a new show, I buy it on amazon instant. It is WAY cheaper than cable.
The only real problem is live sports. (Legal) streaming options are getting better but it is not quite there yet.

I didn't know that you could buy a new show.
The main reason that I am keeping cable is for sports.
What do you do for internet? If I just went with internet it is still around $50 a month, another $40 and I get cable

I have a service called WebPass, which only exists in urban areas in condos and apartment buildings (there have to be a minimum number of units or they won't install). It's essentially a shared line for the whole building (bigger buildings have wider pipes). The cheapest option is to pay annually (which I do) and I think it's $450 or $500 for the whole year. So, quite reasonable. If you pay monthly, it's $50.
It's very fast -- I have no trouble streaming high def video from netflix or amazon or youtube, and I get speeds in the 20-35mbps range on my large downloads from fast servers (eg, PSN).
There is no way that I spend $40 per month on TV shows. Maybe $100 to $150 per year. Each episode is usually $3 for the HD version, but you usually get discounts in the 50c to $1.50 range per episode for pre-buying the full season (and then they just email you when a new episode is available). So if there is a show that I know I like (eg, Big Bang Theory) I'll just buy the whole season. During most of the year there are no new episodes of anything so I'm spending nothing, and just watching free streaming stuff on netflix and amazon prime. I just watched all 6 seasons of the Sopranos on amazon prime, for example.
The only issue is live sports.

I think I watch more shows than that would be worth. Can't you get BBT over the air via antenna?
I can name at least 8 shows I watch a week x 4 weeks and that would be like 60 a month through Amazon. If I didn't already have cable it would probably be worth a try but going from cable to nothing would be tough.
