The meme-ing will be just precious.

Smocking is the elastic pattern sewn into little girl's sundresses.

This one would probably work, if it was something like

Babies can sense when Trump is about to pull out the Smocking Gun.

Yes, I suck at memes. But I can spell, most days.

Stable genius!!

What's he trying to distract us from now?

Is this the old magic trick of hiding something by putting it under a spotlight in the center of a darkened room?

He put a confession in that tweet and distracted us from it with two typos.

a couple of things I can think of that haven't been mentioned much, as far as I can see -

he doesn't care about the national debt, because it won't hit a crisis point before he is out of office

https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-is-going-to-leave-his-successor-a-nightmare-and-he-doesnt-even-care

Jared Kushner was strategizing with the Saudi prince on how to weather the Kashoggi slaying
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/12/09/jared-kushner-advised-saudi-prince-after-khashoggi-murder-report-says/2257098002/
There have been other articles on that topic as well, and one interpretation might label the united states as an accessory after the fact

Chief of staff resigning/forced out - probably the last guy holding trump in check

all this stuff with the mueller investigation with who is being charged, who is being recommended not to be charged for being so helpful, and so on.

So yeah, with all of that, the smocking gun. perhaps it is something you use while raking the forests.

I have to hand it to Donny. He managed to make it through the Bush funeral without embarrassing himself too badly.

There are many programmers here and I think they all have seen this quote:

“To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.”

But in this incompetent and idiotic universe of Trumpers, it doesn’t take a computer to really foul things up, but all it needs is the racist, rapist, sexist, con-artist Trump. America is being raped by trumper, the racist, rapist, sexist, con-artist Trump and his cohorts.

With the so call "good economy" (at the expense of future generations) fuels by tax cut, Executive orders, and deregulations the stock market should be up by AT LEAST 25-30% by now. Well, the racist, rapist, sexist, con-artist Trump, his cohorts, and trumpers all know how to rape America and to really fuceekay things up.

It'll be interesting to see how Donny's approval rating fares with the weakening stock market (something he's repeatedly taken credit for when it's been booming - so he's gotta take the blame now).

Not to mention the fact that in a few months a lot of middle class Americans are going to realize they aren't getting their nice tax refund that they've become so accustomed to over the past several years, all thanks to the GOP tax scam.

Their refunds are going to build that beautiful wall. As Trump said, everytime Mejico refuses to pay for it, it grows ten feet taller.

Kind of like his nose.

Yea, not good at all. Only benefit is with the right tax attorney & accountant we can use the losses to live like the so called “poor”. Paying $2000 a month for HC is crazy, use paper losses properly sold by the end of the year and we should be good for 2019 subsidized HC, Legally of course. Thanks Obama, winners always find ways to benefit. All the while looking at Bond options, opportunities abound for those with assets earned from hard work and tough decisions.

Only in high tax states. And honestly, we both know they deserve it for not commuting. Anyone left living in New Jersey, NY or CA are so far left, they don’t care about their taxes and certainly mean nothing to Trump. Not inside the campaign, but I’m assuming winning those states is not part of his re-election plan.

Yes, there are plenty of issues to turn people in the actual competition states against him. But what you are saying about the Middle Tax Cut is pure BS. It only hurt the Middle Class is high propert tax states as listed above.

Don’t want to get too personal but I’m willing to bet you will be able to show it saved you money this year. I know it won’t change your opinion on him, but it might your fellow Midwestern citizens. It certainly isn’t hurting them this year.

Trump knew EXACTLY what he was doing.

I was doing some tax planning yesterday. I usually get a federal refund of about $1,000. This year I’m on track for a $96 refund. I live in Michigan.

Let’s face it: many Americans don’t think logically, even if their paychecks went up slightly as mine did, that lack of a nice tax refund is going to feel like a big loss and who will get the blame? (Hint: not Obama).

Interesting the GOP did NOT campaign on such a wonderful tax break for the middle class in the midterms. Instead it was INVASION INVASION INVASION, and they still got their a** handed to 'em.

We do agree on one thing though, Trump knew EXACTLY what he was doing.

Again not asking for personal information. I thought you stated you lived in a Midwestern state, thought Wisconsin for some reason. Either way, sharing the math would help. Total income increase, overall tax paid and total percentage. Obviously can’t make a determination without all of these.

That said, the notion that tax refund versus weekly check is a valid argument. For many Americans they get rich, and help the economy by getting money once a year. $1000 once a year beats $40 52 weeks a year. Same math casinos thrive on.

We were discussing this over the weekend. Normally we get $6000 because of tax credits, kids, and write offs. Turbo tax sent me an email about estimating your refund. It says I am getting 1200 back. My paycheck only went up $23 so if this is correct I took a huge hit. I am really hoping this was wrong because we count on this money every year. Honestly, I am not sure what we will do without that money, it would cause a real struggle.

I am betting this will be enough for him to not get reelected. Dem can run on the platform of returning your tax refund to the old way and will win on a landslide.

The average person should see less tax paid this year as a percentage of income (effective tax rate). Marginal rates went down across the board; the loss of exemptions is made up for by the increased standard deduction for people without kids, and the increased child tax credit compensates for the lost exemptions for people with kids. Obviously everyone's situation is different, so some people will end up paying more due to edge cases. But in general, the majority of people will end up paying less overall. Here is a good analysis from The Motley Fool. TL;DR:
Filing StatusOld Tax LawNew Tax Law2018 Change
Single$2,671$2,165Cut of $506
Married filing jointly$10,735$10,066Cut of $669
Head of household($100)($1,968)Cut of $1,868

Of course the breakdown of what you pay per paycheck vs. what you pay/get back at the end of the year can be an optics problem.

What a shot storm. What was supposed to be a simple photo shot turns into a freakin circus. You had to love Pences expression through out the whole thing. Nancy explaining she doesn't want to keep correcting his lies, trump bragging about winning North Dakota.

Chuck Schumer’s face was priceless when trump gave him this early Xmas gift:

“I will shut down the government… I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck… I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. And I’m gonna shut it down for border security.”

Mike Pence just sitting there not saying a word the whole time was pretty funny too.

Presidents get to have Navy ships named in their honor.

George H.W. Bush had a Nimitz-class super carrier named after him, for example.

When and if the time comes to consider naming a ship after Trump, I suggest it be a "frigate," as that term best exemplifies his attitude toward the wants and needs of the American people.

Not all presidents get a ship named after them. The navy favors presidents who served in the military with a strong bias toward those who served in, or made significant contributions to the success of the Navy. Trump is not likely to be so honored. However there are no clear rules so who knows. I suggest the USS Donald J Trump be a coal powered destroyer.

An astute politician would have passed the tax law retroactively and sent out checks for the differences between last years and this years. The sad reality is many households have come to expect a big check for their tax returns and won't see one this year. They'll pay less in taxes throughout the year but still feel cheated when they don't get the big refund.

I thought maybe a barge, after the times he barged in front of the prime minister of Montenegro, or the time he barged in front of our Queen.

Then I thought frigate would be good.

I finally settled on naming a punt after him as in.

"There once was a twpunt called trump"*

Trump spanked the butts of Chuck and

As I understand it, the Democrats were blind sided by the press being there. It was supposed to be a quick meet and greet, followed by a photo shoot after but trump evidently tried to ambush them by bringing the press in for negotiations. It worked out about as well as one might expect.

If Cohen is locked up for 36 months for tax fraud and campaign finance violations then it is more likely that the racist, rapist, sexist, liar, con-artist Trump, who is a masterminder of payments made to two porn stars, will also be locked up after his presidency term.

With or without pardon from a future POTUS, I think most likely Cohen's tweet will be used again when it is time for Trump's sentencing. Here is a question for all, when Trump is locked up, will there be an arrangement for secret service agents to share the same prison cell with Trump?

https://twitter.com/neal_katyal/status/1072900970307309571?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

Michael Cohen has been sentenced to 3 years prison. Sentence is bad news for Trump. In most jurisdictions, subordinates who carry out felonies at the direction of their boss get lower criminal sentences than the boss. So if camp vio big driver of Cohen sentence, Trump > 3 years...

Potentially worse than Cohens case is the agreement the Feds have reached with the National Enquirer. They evidently have agreed to hand over their "trump files" to the Government.

I love it when a plan comes together. Smells like victory.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

It reminds me of the wife who always accuses her husband of cheating...

Because she is the one who is cheating on her husband

If Trump is projecting, the amount of stuff he is guilty of is probably lengthy.

Can one of you give me a list of all the people with ties to Trump who have plead guilty or been convicted of something related to our President or his campaign?

It will be a long list I'm sure......

Once you guys kindly give it to me.... I plan on starting a 'who's next' poll.....

But I'd still bet DJT serves out his term, and never goes to jail after its conclusion.

I met with one of my college buddies, as fiscally conservative a guy as there is, Republican his entire life. At age 60 he just is so fed up with the buffoonery of DJT and his administration that he just registered Dem. Assuming DJT loses in 2020, I wonder if the Republican party will be able to re find its course?

Considering strong evidences Cohen & National Enquirer (AMI), the racist, sexist, rapist, liar, con-artist Trump's two closest "partners-in-crime", Trump most likely will be prosecuted for violating campaign finance laws. Assuming there will not be trumper(s) on jury panel who can or will discreetly & illegally carry out his/her/their jury nullification act, Trump will be a convicted felon (I think SOOPOO is from NY and I hope he/she will not be allowed to serve on jury panel on Trump's trial). The remaining questions will then be:

1) How many years will the racist, sexist, rapist, liar, con-artist Trump get for deceiving the public?

2) As a part of a secret service protection arrangement, should a special prison cell be built to accommodate the security arrangement? Or should he be locked up in a custom built prison cell inside his TBD presidential library, which will be designed and constructed by his real estate firm? And will Don Jr., Ivanka & Jared oversee the design & construction of such presidential library with custom prison cell?

3) Will the racist, sexist, rapist, liar, con-artist Trump receive a presidential pardon from a future POTUS?

I am from NY. But believe it or not I would be disqualified not for being a "Trumper" as you like to say, but I have a cousin whose husband has worked for DJT closely for decades, so I'd probably be disqualified for that. For what it is worth he considers him a great employer. But to get to the meat of your point, probably 1/3 of New Yorkers would be classified as "Trumpers" by you, with 2/3 of New Yorkers as "anti-Trump". I would hope any jury selected would reflect that ratio. I don't think you could find 12 New Yorkers who are neutral....!

I believe Trump could be convicted then pardoned or will never receive jail time at least. I just have a theory Presidents are too much of a liability to national security. Best you can hope for is they get kicked out of office. Just a theory though.

Nixon agreed to resign in return for a full pardon. (I think, or is rumor)

This guy just got sentenced to 36 months.

"Cohen was ordered to report to prison in March." What's that all about? Why was he not just taken down to the cells? Is that how it works in the States for every common criminal? Or is it to give him time to appeal?

He is out on bond so they have some of his money

Meanwhile there is a legal out for him. He can now alter his tune and agree to fully cooperate. This gives him some time to work out a post conviction deal

Also the Mueller team may even ask for a postponement on the March date if they require more of his cooperation

Your buddy supported him prior? Djt is acting exactly like everyone thought he would act so why is anyone surprised?

Guilt or innocent is determined by a jury, and jury nullification is a real concern here. But sentencing is determined by judge. So if the rapist, racist, sexist, liar, con-artist Trump is convicted, he will receive jail time at minimum should be the same as what Cohen received this morning (it is not clear how many months/years of that 3 years sentence just handed to Cohen is attributed to campaign finance crime alone).

Considering rapist, racist, sexist, liar, con-artist Trump's evil behaviors, continuous lying and continuous desire of destroying his political opponents and those who he deemed not loyal enough and considered as enemies, I don't think he will received presidential pardon from a democrat POTUS. With very strong evidences and cooperation from Cohen and National Enquirers (AMI), Trump's only hope of not serving jail time or not becoming a convicted felon is either a jury nullification or a pardon from a republication POTUS.
