I was mucking around online playing bac using a stretched version of martingale where as I would bet as follows:
If I lost 3 more bets than I won I would double my bet and continue at this level until either infront (in which case I would start over) or lost another 3 more bets than won (at which time I would double again) and so on.
I also tried playing where I would triple instead of doubling at end of each level.

Anyone else play this way?
Time will tell

Yes I have played around with this before also, I found that tripling bet after losing 2 more than winning was *usually fun lol
I met a bloke at the casino who says he plays a similar way with black chip starting bets- man he must have to put out some HUGE bets at times!

Hell to the no! When -- not if -- these bet-higher-as-you-lose methods blow up in your face, they cost you some MAJOR BUX. You may think it's unlikely you'll lose a big series of bets, but it can happen. A long time ago at the International in 'Vegas, I watched a Roulette wheel spin up 17 reds in a row. Thank Dog I was on the right side of that proposition (I'd been betting black and switched over after three reds hit)! I've seen similar runs at Craps, at Pai Gow Poker (I got so lucky that the Sahara (LV, NV) cut its limit from $1000 to $500) and ten or more passes aren't all that uncommon, as I've seen it twice in the same week where I usually play. That will devastate any Marty and/or its variations.

Nothing is gonna help a series of -EV guesses on the outcomes of independent events. If it could, there would be no reason to ever open a casino.

A couple of months ago, I had just arrived at the casino to see a run of 17 bankers come to an end, later that night I was playing at a table alone and had a run of 16 bankers! Made a few bucks that night!

Haha yep mostly, with a sprinkle of devastation ;)
I used to play on the Gold Coast, Oz and see the infamous Egalite.
He was an interesting bloke though I never had much to do with him.
Would see him there most days for a few months
