Hello friends, i have been a blackjack player for over 10 years and of course i play "by the book", which means basic strategy.

In Germany, some Casinos have the Sidebet called "Crazy Twins" and a "Twins", but lets focus on Crazy Twins, what is it?

The first card of the dealer must be the same as your first dealt card, then you qualify for the sidebet. If you do not lose the hand, the payout is x22 of the sidebet.
There is also one Joker card in a 6-deck-game, if the first card dealt to you or between the 1st and 2nd card is the joker, you qualify for a x400 sidebet.

From a player that never plays any sidebets - this seem to me very favorable for a player.

Could someone do the math? I Have very good results playing this sidebet.

Rules:
Dealer stands on soft 17
Blackjack 3/2
Splits and Resplits anycard (even Ace) up to 4 hands
Double after Resplit - but only 9,10,11

And if anybody is intrested:

The Sidebet "Twin" is just a regular pair of any of the 13 cards, doesn't matter the symbol or color and is an instant x11 payout.
If there is a Joker inbetweeen or before the first card is dealt, there is a x200 payout.

Same rules, 6 Decks, 1 Joker.

Out of curiosity, how does the joker play in the regular blackjack game? Is it fully wild giving you (or dealer) an automatic 21, or does it have a value of zero?

Thank you Dieter, nice to be here!

Hello brownson, yeah its fully wild giving me or the dealer, its just a regular card, and when its flipped ot the dealer, it gets "burned" and when the player has it without any crazy twin or regular twin (pair), it will just get burned.

Also, if you double an 11 and get that joker, it will just get burned.

But since you asking, another Casino in Germany has a more special "Joker", its a special Ace, which pays out 3 to 1 when Player has a Blackjack with that ace, and the Sidebet called also Twin, you need to have an Joker-Ace (1 in 6 decks) with another Ace for a x200 Payout and a Joker-Ace with a Heart-Ace for x500 payout. But regular Pair pays out 10:1.

I can imagine you'd hit things like 13 v 2 since essentially having 17 is actually similar to have 17.5 and 21 would always win (except vs BJ). Also it might be better to hit rather than make close Doubles (I'm assuming it only pays the original sidebet x22). I'm not sure whether it means you'd split weird things or not split, my guess would be that you'd prefer to be on 7 rather than 77, but then against low cards you split in any case.

Very interesting concept to pay out on win or tie, compared to freebet where, the free part, it's win only. I feel a variant is out there somewhere!!
