At the casino where i work, there was an incident where the dealers hole card was being exposed to players. So there was a change in the way the game was dealt. Originally, three cards were dealt to the dealer, then two to each player. The usual rounds of betting and there were no cards burned. Well to prevent the hole card from being exposed, 5 cards are now dealt to the dealer first, then two cards to each player. After the rounds of betting and the dealers 3rd community card is flipped, the two unused cards get burned. So, basically the first two cards out the machine are burned, before any of the other cards are in play. It just seems strange and I am no wizard but how does burning those two first two cards affect the odds?

It doesn't.

ADDED: Unless you already know what the cards are, you could burn the first twenty cards, give the player the next two, burn ten more and give the dealer the three community cards and it would make no difference. You could pick the 7th, 19th, 23rd, 38th and 49th cards out of the deck for the five cards total and it would make no difference. Five cards is five cards.
