I'm trying to find accomodations on the strip for Feb. 4 through Feb. 6, Super Bowl weekend. I want to stay at the north end, Mirage, Venetian, something like that. My question is, if I establish a casino line of credit or make a deposit, say $5,000, is it possible I could get a better rate on the hotel room?

I'm only guessing, but you're more likely to get a lower rate based on history rather than a "promise to play". I would call the casino in question, tell them you're coming and ask them to connect you with a host. The host will be able to lower your rate, but s/he may be reluctant to do so if you have had no history. But the casino is much safer off by offering you to refund your RFB based on what you played rather than what you promise to play.

SuperBowl weekend is a very busy weekend. Perhaps even busier than New Year's Eve.

You'll be lucky to get a room at all, let alone at a decent rate.

Mirage? Venetian? $5,000 might get you noticed on a regular day, not on the SuperBowl.

Do you have a host at any of these properties? If I remember correctly (Welcome back, by the way), you lost a bundle on craps at Missouri casinos a year or so ago. I think that level of action should get you noticed in Vegas if the casino has a connection there (i.e., if it was at Harrah's).

Otherwise, suck it up and pay through the nose. I don't see why $5,000 front money would even register with one of the big casinos like Venetian or Mirage on Super Bowl weekend. Maybe you could try to establish a $25k or greater line?

Three nights are still available at the Venetian for $269 a night for a basic room.
Arrival Date: 2/03/12
Number of Nights: 3
Reservation Total: $807.00
Total Room Tax:$96.84
Grand Total:$903.84

I agree with DJ, the promise to bet up to $5000 on Super Bowl weekend is likely to meet a yawn.

Harrah's is coming up at about $600 total for those three nights ($400 if I actually login to my Total Rewards account), and is pretty close geographically to the Mirage and Venetian.

I think $5,000 might not get much interest from the Venetian on any saturday night, let alone super bowl weekend. Mirage is arguably a step lower on the posh-scale, but $5k probably still isn't noteworthy. Speaking of noteworthy, NOTE: It's probably not worth the bank fees to wire in and deposit that much money, especially if the room rate is your primary concern. Just take 50 $100 bills and try not to look nervous walking down the strip.

I just called Club Grazie, and surprise! I qualify for a 3 night stay, comped. Unfortunately that offer expires Feb. 1. I then spoke with a casino host; she is "checking" and will call me back later today. Gonna call the Mirage now.
