If you take a bus to Mohegan Sun from Boston or New York, you get $50 in Matchplay (2X$15, 1X$20 coupons). In Roulette, these are good for RED or EVEN bets only, not BLACK or ODD. I thought this was a typo, but when I asked, they confirmed.

Why on earth do they do this?

Because you could put one on Red, and one on Black, on the same spin, thus guaranteeing a win.

Lots of casinos do that.

Kinda silly if you ask me. It's not like you're gonna take a day and make the trip, score that guaranteed one hit and go home....

If it were me, I'd simply make it that you could one use one at a time.

That is a good one. I was thinking it would be to avoid you betting against yourself to cut loss probability to 5.25% but after I thought on it you could still do that. Possibly they did that just to get you to read the coupon?

I talked about this in a previous discussion of Matchplay, but it's also so you don't increase the Casino's Variance on the coupon by placing it on a specific number. Also silly though.

Still makes sense though...I never even thought of that, but the coupon also says you can only use one at a time. Maybe this stops you from colluding with someone else there with you...

Now that makes sense. $10 profit each with an expected loss of $2.10 total.
