When will Nareed pass DJTeddybear?

Nareed has been closing the "total posts" gap on DJTeddybear. When do you think he will pass him?

Nareed, I'm sorry, I meant to post, but ended up screwing your reply again.

I don't remember the exact wording but it was along the lines of, "I don't think he ever will but she might, perhaps on my upcoming vacation."

I was thinking the same thing last week when Nareed was only 12 or so behind.

Now it's up to 30+ behind.

For about two seconds, I considered posting a bunch of one-word posts that together make a sentence. But I changed my mind because, quite frankly, being #1 on that list truly doesn't matter to me. If anything, it shows that I need a life.

So I wasn't gonna respond to this thread. I saw Nareed's original response and did think it was funny / clever. It's only now, with this disappearing post thing that I figured I'd respond.

Ooops! It was indeed a slip. I re-read your reply several times, not seeing what could have been "on purpose" or "not funny". Then I read my own post carefully. Nope, I guess I was just tricked by the original post and slipped into always-masculine verbage. I apologize.

I hope that you realize that these errors that some of us make in pronoun gender use really are errors and not attempts to be negative toward you at all. This board is numerically dominated by males, and most of us, both male and female, have androgynous nicknames. With "HotBlonde" there is a ready reminder, but otherwise, it is very easy to forget who is male and who is female. There is one member that I have been continuously uncertain about -- I think that member is either female or a gay male, but it's not completely obvious, and the terms he/his/him are often used by others without malicious intent, even if she is a female. When I first started reading this forum, I had the impression that you were male, and even with your later declaration that you are female, I haven't always been able to keep that straight in my mind. And my complete lack of experience with transgender people doesn't help at all in automatically coming out with the right pronoun. There's no offense intended, it's just repeated slips by me and by others. If your user name were "Martha" or something, I'd probably get it right, but I'll work harder at it. If we ever have the opportunity to meet IRL, it will likely be easier to keep the thinking straight.

Now if HotBlonde actually turns out to be a 55 year old fat guy with a beard ....

I thought so, but in the context of another conversation I'd thought you'd be more vigilant.

for the most part that may be so. But I also feel a lot of apathy some times.

No, that's me. And for the record I too always thought Nareed was male, but I'm new here. I've also assumed that Doc is male, but there can also be a lady Doc just as well as a male Doc. And "kp" is about an un gender specific as you can get, but now everyone knows I'm a 55 year old fat guy with a beard.

I could claim to not be a 55 year old fat guy, but I've posted my photo, and met several members, so that ship has sailed.

Except I'm only 52.....

Personally, I am NOT a 55 year old fat guy with a beard. I gave that up a decade ago. Now I'm a 65 year old fat guy with a beard.

And Yes, I am male, not a bearded lady. There is a photo hidden away somewhere in the archives of this forum. Presumably, there will be another after WoVCon.
