Tips for Junket Host?

| carolinajacket Member since: Nov 30, 2011 Threads: 2 Posts: 4 | We take several junket casino trips (flights) each month. My question: Do your (The Wizard) advice about tipping casino hosts apply also to hosts who travel with flight junkets? If so, what level would be appropriate? |

The only exception would be if you really won A LOT of money. I hate to throw out a number, but let's just say something in the top 3% of the bell curve. Then you might look a bit stingy if you didn't give your host something. It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet. |

He gets paid by "selling" your action to the casino and keeping track of your play so as to market you elsehwere. Besides, often the host that escorts the junket-tour is the low man on the totem pole at the junket firm and your tip money would be better spent almost anywhere else. Junket firms don't deliver "whales"... they deliver a variety of already--rated players, many are simply ploppies or slot machine types. The casino pays the junketeer for the Total Action of his passengers. |

There are lots of them. I'm not sure what the term is, but there are independent hosts that represent lots of casinos around the world. If you're a big enough player they will set everything up. A little searching should turn up some. It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet. |

Second Arrive at the departure gate early, especially if the junket isn't losing enough and insist on there being delays, slipping a 20 or two in the right places can help! Third and final Make sure there is confusion about departure times amongst the lucky junketeers. Couldn't resist the double-meaning of the OP. ;o) To err is human. To air is Jordan. To arrr is Pirate. |
