Has anyone ever been to this casino in Erie, PA? I did a search but didn't come up with one single hit on this place. I was hoping at least AZDuffman, maybe SOOPOO or even boymimbo had happened to have visited and could tell me a little about it. I'll be in the area with time to kill in July and figured it was as good a place as any to waste some dollars, so if you have any info whatsoever, I'm all ears.

I have. There's not a lot to write about. It's small, has no discernible theme except for maybe the leftovers from Mountaineer, and it's standard PA table game rules. I wasn't impressed at all.

You also have to cross a bridge to get to it that to me, seems a bit shaky.

My review...

What the...? Guess I need to sharpen my search skills ;)

Good review, seems to be worth the trip. After all, I'm not there to rack points, or get trashed for "free", or be blown away by amenities. Basically, I'll be down there for a hockey tournament and could have anywhere from 4 to 8 hours between games to kill, and I see that the arena isn't but a few blocks away from the casino. As long as the games are "real" (no 6:5, no lottery slots) and the crew is semi-competant, my needs are met =) Thanks! I'll review it myself when/if I make it, now that they've had some time for the "honeymoon" to wear off.

I've been there. I enjoyed it. The games were ok, PA's rules are good for BJ, so that's a plus. That said, if you have more than a few hours to kill, it might be worth the drive to Rivers or the Cleveland Horseshoe. Presque Isle was a good place to play, but it's just a track with some casino games. no more, no less. Rivers is nicer, with more games and variety, and some of the luster might still be on the Horseshoe in July.

Haven't visited as every time I drive by I am on my way to a different casino. From what I heard there was no poker room though they may have added one since then. All feedback I received was "basic locals casino" which is not a suprise as that is how Erie did things when I was in college there. (Only city I ever lived where HS sports leads the news and they get to the pros after commercial break.) If you are in the area drop by, PA table game rules are among the best. Just don't expect much in nongaming experience.

Don't eat at the casino, much better choice of everything on Peach St nearby.

Presque Isle is one my least favorite casinos- and I've been to a bunch. I find the layout congested in all respects. Slot selection is mediocre. Table selection mediocre although the BJ rules are decent, as was previously noted. I've stopped there en route to other casinos, but no more. Comps are horrible, too. I did some fairly serious action a few months ago and this month the offer is $5 in FP and no food. You can't bank in Pai Gow Poker and they have lower limits to boot. Seneca Allegheny is about an hour away and they are well run and a nicer group all-around. The downside to SA is that they do not have a diverse set of table games- even to the point of being strangely so. But the Seneca casinos are nice, the promotions are good, and they are fair. My two cents- good luck.
Lack of prior planning on your part doesn't constitute an emergency on my part.

I play there frequently. It is small and their comp system is not really understandable. The Black Jack as previously sated has good rules S17 DAS DAC and late surrender. The cuts however are not good so the games are not worth counting most of the time. They usually have $5 table early but it switches to $10 fairly quickly. They are normally crowded but I have on a number of occasions found and empty table of the same denomination, same rules right next to two full ones. They also have Baccarat, Texas Holdem Bonus poker, Pai Gow (which you cannot bank) 3 card poker and let it Ride. They usually have a $5 craps table early and couple roulette tables. They do have an adequate non smoking section (usually the tables are not open only slots) and now have a poker room. I have two friends who on there last two trips won $3000 and $3800 each playing $1 and $5 slots. It is nothing special but it is a friendly place to play. I usually go in the morning so it is never crowded when I am there.
