Has anyone visited the Greenbrier Casino in WV since the larger casino opened? Any reviews?

Nope. My only visit to the Greenbrier was during the construction phase of the full casino, with just the Tavern Casino open. I posted some photos and discussions of that visit about a year ago.

I did receive a promotional email recently, and I see that this weekend they are having some sort of charity weekend event that includes allowing non-registered guests enter the casino for a $10 donation. I'm not sure just how that fits with the rules of the enabling legislation for that casino. Entry is supposedly restricted to members and registered guests by law.

I emailed them to try to find out things like what kind of table minimums to expect, and didnt get an answer. Looks like we will be there in April on vacation, so I too am looking for reviews and will certainly post mine!

When I visited in April 2010, the Tavern Casino had table minimums of $5 for 3CP and Roulette and $10 for blackjack. It would not really surprise me if similar limits applied for the full casino. As I mentioned in my report last year, I didn't get the impression that they were really trying to make their money directly from the casino -- just one more of the many grand amenities at a resort where you pay for your stay rather than getting it comped.

I don't think I have seen anything about minimums on-line for the Greenbrier or most any other casino.

these things of course can change anyway. But if there were more reviews, that's the place maybe to get a handle on it.

btw, have you noticed that in looking at online reviews you have to screen out the real sourpusses? There's always a bunch of folks who are miffed about something, and in many cases it just seems like they were complaining about a bad day at the slot machines. [not that there are any reviews I've seen re the Greenbrier one way or the other.]

I was there in the 80's before they discovered "The Bunker." Nice how our professional lifetime politicians plans took care of themselves and we were left to fry!! Can't imagine being locked up with a bunch of politicians and forced to breed!! I'll take my chances with the nuclear fallout!
