Gays and Sex Drive

After just being flabbergasted first reading the tread where the lady writes about her husband being bisexual, I finally made a small contribution after it struck me that this is another instance where much of the problem is excessive sex drive. In a discussion with other straight men once a long time ago about homosexual men, the idea was put out there that a lot is explained by understanding that gay men are over-sexed; by this assertion one of the guys meant he felt that gay men suffer from excessive libido.

Although this is the kind of thing you can't seem to read on the subject, it has always made sense to me. So, I put this 'out there' to see what everyone thinks.

Workers who track venereal diseases are often confronted by lengthy lists of sex partners for gay males. There seems to be several brain development points involved in sexuality and many gay males just seem bent on getting the numbers up. Its not necessarily testosterone levels. Testing serum testosterone is more expensive and cumbersome than testing saliva testosterone and the numbers are always in dispute anyway, but it seems that sexual activity levels can be influenced by unusual reactions to anti-depressants and also to cranial trauma as well.

I hope we can kick our oil habit one day and replace it with sex drive.

Im gay and I will say that sex drive is based on the person. I havent been "in the mood" in years... and im only 25! :(

Request administration move this thread to the GLBT Corner so it does not show up in the "recent threads" column. This kind of thing has caused problems there before.

Agreed, this is a red herring. I'm sure that there are individuals that are way over-sexed but it certainly does not apply to all of us.
