Quote: onenickelmiracleI have never tried these juul things not vaping. Recently saw an article that claimed the fda was seriously considering banning them unless manufacturers find away so kids don't have access buying them. I personally don't buy the fact cigarettes age people. Lets just say I have a friend, who was a very heavy smoker for 25 years and they look 7-12 years younger than their true age. It's sunlight that speeds the aging process in my opinion.however, more people are probably choosing the new ways to smoke you described over traditional smoking, but I don't really notice it in the casino. I'm thinking if I had a baby, I wouldn't give them a bottle every time they cried for it so they don't wind up orally fixated and smokers.
About Juul, and the Juul commercial, is it just me or does it seem that the ONLY reason this grown Spokeswoman gave up smoking cigarettes is because it had fallen out of fashion and was no longer wildly accepted? Kind of strange. It would have been better if she claimed that cigarettes gave her black lungs and horrible coughing spells and was damaging her health. Would have been a much better commercial.

She was a good hearted person who had a troubled life. She was a drug addict and part of that led to her murder.I asked my boss for a vacation when really all I needed was tomorrow. I said I'll just ask for two weeks since I have vacation days banked anyways. My mother was saying she feels like she might kill herself if she has to face this monster who killed her daughter and my sister, so I said I should go on vacation to be there for her. Now we have no idea when the court date is. I guess I'll just ask for another few days when the court date arrives.
Quote: PokerGrinderNathan you referred to your sister using “his”, are you confused about your whole family’s genders or just your own?
When did I use "his," when referring to my sister? I reread my post a couple of times and I don't see where I said that. :/
I assume you were talking about the killer, but I can see the basis for PG's confusion.

No, Nathan referred to a "sister" as "he" several days ago. I didn't point out the inconsistency at the time, but I noticed it, too. I don't recall what post it was.

Yes, you are correct. When I said,"His court date," I meant my sister's murderer's court date, not my sister's court date. To PG, WHY would my dead sister have a court date? Oh well, I edited my post to clearly say that I was talking about her murderer.

Don’t blame people for living a long happy life, blame those who cause lives to be ended early.

Why is a man who murdered you sister and several others even being considered to get let out of prison ?

You make a good point, but I'm just so bitter that she was taken at such a young age and didn't even make it to her only child's 1 year old birthday!

Quote: beachbumbabsHow/why do you go number 2 on an open toilet seat? That sounds uncomfortable at best.
But in a shared bathroom, the etiquette tends to be seat down after number 1. ESPECIALLY if you're in a windowless bathroom or after dark. The consequences of sitting down and into an open toilet are so huge compared to the trouble of putting the seat back down, it's just common sense.
And no, I'm not Nathan. But I have had a wet butt from a careless toilet-sharer more than once, so I'm giving my opinion anyway.
Not ONCE in my entire life have I been like, “Yeah, just gonna jump onto the toilet without looking, bombs away!” Come on, like who does that? It literally takes almost no effort to check the seat is down and lid is up.

Banzai Brownie, Flanigan's. This is a treat I have NEVER been able to finish. Triple chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Sauce, big scoop of Edy's vanilla ice cream, Kit Kat bars, whipped cream, Oreo pieces. Even the menu points out that this is meant to SHARE(infers that this treat is HUGE, which it is, ;)

I was the only loser actually SMILING. :) The other Losers looked Chagrined. Mooie's sadly went out of business. It seemed like it was going to stick around with good treats AND rave reviews on Yelp.Yelpers were saying stuff like,"Mooie's has delicious ice cream, delicious snacks, and is really a nice, family oriented place that entertains both kids and adults alike and the staff is really nice and attentive. I will come here again." Geez, with rave reviews it should have stuck around for many years. Sadly it lasted less than a year. :(

Gulfstream doesn't check bags and purses. Offers Roulette at a quarter a number but makes you place a $5 Minimum. They will not allow you to place one quarter on outside bets except for 0 and 00. Outside bets are $1 each choice. They offer a guaranteed $20 a week in free play. Best deal out of the three in free play. Hialeah offers roughly $19 more on top of their guaranteed $19, but the extra $19 has a $150 coin in requirement. Their food is expensive. $15 for a burger and fries when there is a Steak N Shake across the street that offers a burger and fries for $3.99! What the hell! Has Lottery on Casino property. Has double Casinos.
Hialeah. Checks bags and purses and then lets gamblers play with the bags. They have Lottery in the Casino. They offer a guaranteed $17 in free play. For a combined $150 coin in, you get roughly an extra $19 in free play. You can use points for food or free play. Roulette is $2 Minimum and quarters are accepted on all outside bets. Best deal on Roulette out of all 3 Casinos. They offer specials such as Minced pork, mashed potatoes, and rice and beans for $7.50. Good deal. Their fries basically fill the bottom of a Styrofoam plate. A bit pricey considering Burger King and McDonald's basically offer the same size for like .75 less . They offer a steak sandwich and fries for roughly $10. Kind if pricey but steak sandwich is tasty. Soda is extra despite free soda at the bar literally 20 steps away. Go figure.
Casino Miami. Does not allow you to bring in bags. You have to leave bags outside where opportunists can make off with your bags. Free play is a guaranteed $18. Roulette is $2 minimum, .50 minimum and you can play .50 on all outside bets. You cannot use points for free play. Player's Club says that losses are rewarded, not wins. To the best of my knowledge, Hialeah and Gulfstream reward free play on coin in, win or lose. You can get a pork and rice deal for $6 plus free soda. Not bad. Fries are $1.50, more than half of Hialeah's fries and are roughly the same size of the Hialeah fries. You can also get a burger and fries for only $6, more than half the price of the burger and fries price at Gulfstream. Casino Miami is the best deal food price wise. Does not offer Lottery.

Quote: NathanKind of messed up to charge people double tax on Lottery winnings. If you choose the lump sum and say the Jackpot was 40 million(List Jackpot), you end up paying like 40 percent in taxes when the dust settles and then like another 20 percent to cash out. There was a Lottery Article advising people to not quit their jobs just because their ticket matched the numbers perfectly. According to my calculations, a 40 million List price is 16 million take home pay. Ouch at the huge tax takeaway!
I quit with 16 million. Don't you?
Quote: SOOPOOI quit with 16 million. Don't you?
16 million is really not that much if you quit your job because 16 million can be gone in a flash, there are many people who won even more than 16 million, quit their jobs, and ended up buying a bunch of extravagant stuff, donating a bunch of money to charity, giving a bunch of money to friends and family, gambling a bunch of money, buying failed investments and end up broke within a year or so, begging for their old jobs back. Sad really.

True. I have experience living below my means. I am certain I could invest the $16 million to have a steady stream of safe income above my needs, without needing to deplete the initial windfall.

You bring up a valid point. You live below your means which is why 16 million dollars would be ideal for you. But so many Lottery Winners go crazy with all the millions and live way beyond their means. They also forget that that investments like that $2 million Mansion they bought has maintenance fees/taxes to upkeep it, and that $200,000 Ferrari/Lamborghini has maintenance costs, fees/taxes too. When I was a naive child, I thought you only bought things once and that was it. I didn't know about taxes/fees. Sad how these ADULT Lottery Winners neglect to think about the fees/taxes on top of those lavish investments, just like a naive child would think. And on top of that, they can't even sell off the lavish investments so easily as most people don't want a $2 million dollar plus taxes and maintenance fees Mansion (Most people have only about 5 people living in their house, a lot of the time it's a Mom and Dad)/two adult parents with their three kids,so at the most they only need 4 bedrooms and not a 50 room house) nor do most people want a single $200,000 Lamborghini/Ferrari plus taxes and fees when most people would be fine with 3 $20,000 Nissans($60,000 plus taxes/ fees maintenance costs)Which is how they end up broke within a year or so. So sad.

You have talked about wanting to be a serious poster, you even talked about advantage playing non casino stuff. Here is a possible casino advantage situation, all be it a very small one, but none the less, understanding the situation can turn that light bulb on for you. You have all the tools on WOO and this site to tell us if the there in an advantage via the promotions you mentioned above. Why don't you do some research and calculations and tell us what games would be best to play, and what, if any, advantage you might have doing the promotions, and how best to take advantage of them. Make us all proud.

I am playing considerably much more money on Roulette than I do on Slots. On Slots, I play .20-$1 a spin but on Roulette just the Minimum bet is $2, a $2 a spin on a slot I find kind of expensive, but I drop $2 Roulette bets a lot. I even play $20 bets on Roulette, something I would not see myself doing on a Slot Machine. I should be getting comps and points for my Roulette play too." Axel has a good point and interesting enough was posted right before I clicked to ask my question. :)

The cash flow crisis happened less than a week and now my paychecks are back to normal. And I should have clarified. I am playing a quarter for each number that I choose and like $.50 for 0, 0.50 for 00, $1 for 1-18, $1 for 1st 12, 0.50 for second 12, $1 for Even, 0.50 for Black, $1 for Red, $1 for Odd, $0.50 for 3rd 12, 0.50 for all three 2:1 columns each, so $1.50, .50 cents for 3rd 12, and .50 for 19-36. I then put the remaining money on the inside numbers at a quarter or .50 each so it's not like I am playing $20 on just one number.
