I threw the notices away and ignored
them. My wife got called, went thru
a whole boring time consuming process
and was dismissed in the end. Total

I always wondered what would happen if you just ignore them. I heard they will have a sheriff serve you. I guess it is not a crime to ignore the mailed ones since they can not prove you got them. I suspect it is a crime if you ignore it once you are officially served.

Yup. I would just say I never got
them or thought they were junk
mail and threw them away. They
can prove nothing. They eventually
stopped sending them.
My wife just got one and she was wondering what would happen if she just ignored it. We looked it up and it was not good. I have to re-read it, but I seem to recall that just ignoring it wouldn't do.Quote: GWAEI always wondered what would happen if you just ignore them. I heard they will have a sheriff serve you. I wouldn't mind doing JD but She really hates dealing with people she doesn't know and is uncomfortable with situations like this. Ya, ya, I know, boo-hoo civic duty and all that. I say, let the people who want to do this stuff do it and leave the people who don't want to do it alone.

I waited until just before midnight on the day before to call. Of course, the automated system said not needed. My theory being that they get people first come first served. Also, could be some liability having you appear without time for a certain number of hours of rest.

How is it 'trolling'. I turned on

Democratic senator and CNN rush to blame Trump over New Zealand massacre
Sen. Richard Blumenthal and a CNN anchor immediately blamed rhetoric from President Trump and his allies for the mass shooting in New Zealand that took the lives of 49 people.
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/blumenthal-links-new-zealand-massacre-to-trump-charlottesville-words-do-have-consequences
This is going on all over place.
I don't know if the topic of the NZ shooter is the reason admin closed the "news" thread? I don't think so, so I'll add, I think the story of the mass shooting in NZ has several poignant facets to it, that separate it out from the usual US school or theater mass killing.Quote: EvenBobAnybody see the shooting in NZ is Trump's

One facet is that it was Muslims this time that were the primary target, where usually Muslims get the blame for mass murder. Another facet is, NZ has strict gun laws, and this guy was armed to the teeth with AUTOMATIC rifles.
More facts I'm sure will bare out today, but I would like to know what kind of meds this white guy was taking?
Not to typecast people, but he looks like the type to be taking ssri's?
It wouldn't have mattered in this case if NZ had 500 more anti gun laws. This is what gun advocates have been saying all along. Apparently not one shot fired back in self defense. [about 7 minutes into the tape, it looked like one person tried to tackle the shooter ]
In today's paper here in Az., the front page has an article about loosening gun laws on school property.
I read somewhere that his motivation was to get a race/civil war going in the USA?
add; god I hope those weren't Russian made guns, and Putin doesn't get blamed.

I see nothing unreasonable about what was said.

https://www.technologyreview.com/s/613092/a-quantum-experiment-suggests-theres-no-such-thing-as-objective-reality/
Quote:But Proietti and co’s result suggests that objective reality does not exist. In other words, the experiment suggests that one or more of the assumptions—the idea that there is a reality we can agree on, the idea that we have freedom of choice, or the idea of locality—must be wrong.
Of course, there is another way out for those hanging on to the conventional view of reality. This is that there is some other loophole that the experimenters have overlooked. Indeed, physicists have tried to close loopholes in similar experiments for years, although they concede that it may never be possible to close them all.
Quote: rxwinea-quantum-experiment-suggests-theres-no-such-thing-as-objective-reality/
The fact that we 'create our own reality' is
a position long held by mystics in the East.
Krishnamurti taught that the observer is
the observed, we create what we're looking
at. Because we agree on most of what we
create we assume it's 100% the same.
But because we cannot see exactly what
the other person see's, we can't know
for sure.
Obvious schisms are things like me and
FrG. I live in a world where no god exists,
he lives in a world full of angels and demons
and devils and dead men who 'save' him
from being a 'sinner' (whatever that means).
Even though there isn't a shred of evidence
his world exists, he creates it so well he
doesn't care there's no evidence. Because
there is no solid reality, this has caused
countless grief in the world and continues
to do so. We are what we believe, we live
in the reality we create, but once you realize
that, it changes you.
You stop taking things so seriously, you try
and create a reality you can live in with a
minimum of stress.

I don't see this lasting... People are going to take advantage of it and lose weight just to get the money, and then put the weight back on.

Stats say most people put weight back on anyway money or no money.
Quote: rxwineStats say most people put weight back on anyway money or no money.
That's because to lose weight you
have to pay strict attention to what
you eat 24/7. Most people can only
keep that up for so long before they
lapse.
What gets me is seeing people I
knew 20 years ago in their 40's
who were slim and in shape.
Now in their 60's, some of them
have gained over a hundred
pounds. You can't eat anything
you want everyday forever.
Quote: rxwineStats say most people put weight back on anyway money or no money.
That's usually because most people alter their diet in unsustainable ways.

No.
But as far as I know, though, my wife prefers getting massages from women, too.

lol that is funny. Got it from red box. Now watching night school.
What did you think of BR?
BTW, cop who shot a black kid in Pittsburgh was just found not guilty. I am going to baracade myself tonight
I shopped it around and even spoke over the phone a number of times with Jim Beach the lawyer portrayed in the film (Miami Beach).
Long distance calls all the way to Ireland lol.
They passed obviously. :(
It's ok for Hawaii, but Alaska? Really?😉

Well as I say in the above post I had an all too brief attempt at doing something with them. I never spoke directly to Brian May or the others. Just Jim Beach
They were looking to do a live show and must have been intrigued I came to them at that time but ultimately I was a nobody and they went with someone else to write a show.
I did think the portrayal of Brian May was as fantastic as Mercury. I couldnt tell the difference from the real May the whole movie
Quote: darkozI actually wrote a Broadway Musical (unproduced) using the songs of Queen back in 1992.

They were based in Ireland? I pretty much lost interest in Queen after a Night at the Opera. Loved Killer Queen but by 77, it was over.
Nowadays, that's about all I'm really interested in when it comes to movies. When it comes to TV series, I like a little bit of everything, aside from reality TV, I won't even watch survivor any more.Quote: GWAEthat is pretty good. Too bad I can't even draw a square.

If you have Netflix they just released a movie about Motley Crue called The Dirt.

Jim Beach was at the time I was in contact with him. I cant speak for the others
For the most part they were out of England but I do remember reading they left officially at one point when they began a 90% tax on the wealthy.
They werent the only wealthy who fled I am sure. I dont believe its anywhere near that high at this time
EDIT: you can read more about that issue with British musicians here https://ultimateclassicrock.com/rock-bands-taxes/

I'm not a fan of the band, and generally dislike heavy metal but found the film to be outstanding. Still not a fan of the band, just the movie.

haha during the movie I thought his accent was terrible. I was like why does someone from england sound like he is from Ireland. Appears I was the fool there.

yeah you can see you haven't cleaned up from some other project!
I was anticipating this and watched as soon as I had the chance. I enjoyed it to an extent(just like any other rock comedy), but I think it could have been much better, it's seems to me that they did a lot of timeline fast forwarding and they left out tons of stuff that I would be interested in. This seems like just a comedy fluff piece to me.Quote: TigerWuIf you have Netflix they just released a movie about Motley Crue called The Dirt.
Notice there is no mention of Pamela Anderson and Tommy's jail time? They showed some of the bad things the band did, but never really showed any of the consequences.
It seemed as if one day they are all complete addicts who can barley function and the next day they are all basiccly recovered.
If you are looking for "The Dirt", you won't find it in this movie.
Is there something going on near the to hinge? Do you need a doorstop so it doesn't contact the cabinet? The photo looks fisheye, the door looks easy to break into, and the paint on each of the pains needs to be scraped off. Below the door, if this is an entrance you need a sill or a wipe, something to slow the wind down. Did you intend for the 4 triangles to look darkened? It is common to leave paint off of the strike plate and the hinges, leaving them shiny brass.Quote: FaceI painted my front door...
