Do you think in one year it will be higher or lower than the current price?

I think Apple will always be a good buy
as long as Apple is a leader in smart phones
More advanced models will come out and people always have to have the latest gadgets.
Future sales are guaranteed
There is so much advancement ahead
I see the day when they operate like the scanner Bones had on Star Trek

I think Apple will be ordered to leave China within 3 months by the Administration. Then within 3 months China will ban/restrict Apple sales. If Apple loses China market, it will hurt its bottom line a lot. i mean a lot.
Also, big tech like, Facebook, Twitter, Google will see a Gigantic hammer coming their way. I am setting up to buy some put option on Apple and Nasdaq index the coming week. It is a big gamble but I think it will pay off handsomely.

I think that it is competition that will throttle Apple. There are so many other companies that are making similar phones now, that pricing pressure may limit profits down the road. I’ve sold some at recent highs, but still have a bunch. And in MANY ETFs I have a bunch more.

Speedy.... when you buy the puts please post what you paid for what expiration date so we can follow along.

Looks like entire market to go down today....

Long term holding - investing
Buying Puts - gambling

I hold till I need the money unless I notice a company I own is going sideways

Correct! My B in Law told me you are NOT allowed to even buy puts in a retirement account. It is truly gambling. I have never bought or sold a put or call.

Many believe as you do that market will explode once it is perceived that COVID-19 is under control. Probably ceretain stocks will soar, but the overall market has 'priced it in' already, as it has ALREADY soared!

I have been tempted but never gave in to the temptation to buy options. I am more of an investor. I will put my little bit of money in companies that I like and that are near the top of the companies in their field. When I do buy stocks I rarely sell them. I think that I sell about one or two stocks a year. To me it is just a savings account that I hope I can get a 5% return per year.

I think me buying options..... there are sharks and fishes..... I wouldn't be a shark.....

When I set out on my retirement plan I planned on 5% a year, but although I have far exceeded that (it's only 16 months) I WISH there was a safe way to lock in 5%. I think the EV of stocks still exceeds 8% a year. I probably should use something like Kelly to figure out how much I should keep in this market....

I sell growth stocks when they hit a certain level and hold dividend stocks. That is of course unless there is news that triggers me to sell.

Tesla is a bona fide investment. Bitcoin is gambling with a Mafia boss in the basement of his home.
So great choice and good luck to you.

Tesla is way to high. Its high due to intense speculation, not the fundamentals of the actual business
I dont understand BTC so I stay away from any investment I dont understand

The definition of speculating! It is $854 at this moment in time. You can take your 1.6% gain and go buy a couple hundred of those burgers we are discussing in another thread.

It isn't. Right now half the world thinks it is worth a dollar more than the price, and half the world thinks it is worth a dollar less. (Or a penny). That is how stocks are priced. TSLA is around $850 now. I can find you ten 'experts' who said it was 'overpriced' at $500.

I just bought TGT after asking wife for a recommendation. She said she thinks Target will benefit a lot from the vaccines freeing people up to shop more, and at slightly upscale Target compared to downscale Walmart. When I looked it was at $192, around TRIPLE what it was not that long ago. I used the 'word 'expensive' to her and she reminded me about TSLA. So I own 50 shares..... it is up to $199 just days later.

The insanity of gamestop stock and shorts
Gamestop is actually the most shorted stock out there
It actually pissed off some redditors that invest
So the redditors bought up the stock raising the price
The shorters are now freaking out.
They are betting huge on the stock falling and its climbing
So to prevent huge losses, the shorters jump on the rising price stock price bandwagon making the stock go up insanely high. Stock exchange had to stop the trading

Maybe we get a story that the Dawg was behind this and mama Belly comes in to defend

I read that article a day or two ago and coincidentally was thinking last week how is Gamestop going to stay solvent? Retail game sales is unsustainable.

So yesterday my friend with the account he opened during the spring with 'play money' asked me about stocks like gameStop. We are probably both going to dabble in HERO, an ETF with companies like that, I think.

His portfolio is up from $29k to now over $125k! NIO is biggest gainer. Also won big on NBEV. Smaller winner on MJ.

My WoV portfolio is up today, while my other 4 are all down. TSLA up $40 helps..... The blurb says it is up, wait.... because there are rumors it is working with Samsung on a chip to help in fully self driving cars......

Just while typing this it is now up close to $50! So an increase just in the last hour of more than the ENTIRE VALUE of the Ford Motor Company! And just while typing this all 4 other portfolios are now up as well.......

As of this moment portfolio up 117% from inception.

Apparently there is a group of people on Reddit that set out to destroy a guy they don't like who was a famous 'short seller'. The short seller analyzed Gamestop, which lost I think $1/4 billion last year. He sees a failing business model, selling games in malls. Apparently nothing proprietary that they own. A likelihood for bankruptcy. So he shorted the stock expecting to make money as it went down.... But the coordinated effort of the Reddit buyers has it just going up and up. Apparently the 'short seller' took his (huge) losses and is out. So now the Reddit guys will no longer be propping it up. It hit $250 yesterday after hours. Now around $225.

If you made me bet which it would hit first, $200 or $250 from now, I'd go $200. At some point the fact that it is a crappy company that doesn't make money that depends on sales in malls....

market set to be down a bunch today overall....... As I've mentioned my B in Law trader is moving to mostly cash. He is like old school wall street guy... 'the valuations make no sense'....

The "guy they don't like" is Andrew Left and his company Citron.

His tactics have cost investors millions if not more.

He has a following that buys stocks over a few weeks time to prop up the price.

When Andrew prints a negative article from his company Citron, that is the signal for his followers to all sell simultaneously (the signal is protected under free speech as it's a published report of an opinion, which is the purpose of the report. To cover their legal tracks). As the stock drops precipitously a panic sell ensues.

His followers that brought low make money with their coordinated sell at the high. Andrew Left makes a ton of cash short selling a stock he knew was going to have massive runoff.

His playbook (repeated over and over) has destroyed companies.

But it's so predictable that not only have articles been written on how he does it but apparently some rich pockets and reddit followers realized they could follow the signs too and destroy Andrew Left for a change.

Citron issued their report Thursday that GameStop was due to fail. And the reverse attack began Friday.

I'm sure it was more than reddit followers who piled on. Probably many angry people dedicated to teaching this guy a lesson.

BTW, Soopoo, GameStop just hit $310

If anyone wants to bet, I will bet that Gamestop goes to 100 before it goes to 400. It is currently at 297.

I bought Nokia yesterday at $4.80. Out of all these targeted companies Nokia actually has a business model that makes a profit. I was going to sell some when it hit $8+ .... but waited literally a few minutes while texting with son and B in Law about this stuff..... And as you see its now down to around $6.50!

My son bought EXPR at a few pennies over $10. And B in law bit the bullet and is in Nokia and AMC. He sort of does this for a living with stocks he understands. he says he has no idea when to sell these!
