Greetings all,

My wife and I are staying downtown starting this Sunday, and I have a question for the group...

I have our room booked at Four Queens, 2 nights comped, third night at $22, plus $20 food credit and $20 slot credit for Binion's.

Last time, we loved the Golden Nugget. I can't get a comped room there, however, I liked it enough I'm thinking I might book our stay there and just pay for it. My question is this...

Should I go ahead and book at the Golden Nugget, and leave my reservation at the Four Queens and take advantage of the $40 I have coming to me, and cancel that third (paid) night? OR

Should I save my money and just stay at the Four Queens, and try the $20 trick for an upgrade (maybe to a jacuzzi suite)?

Golden Nugget sure was nice, so I'm a bit torn on this decision. Suggestions?

I'd save the money and use the comp. However, I think your decision should be based on what you enjoyed so much about the GN. if it was the accomodations, then by all means pay the money. Life is too short to not have marble tile in the bathroom.

I would stay at the Four Queens. Tell them your story about how you like the Golden Nugget, and they might get jealous and upgrade you for free (a longshot, I know). If you really want the Nugget, by all means keep your reservation at the 4Q so you can get that freeplay and food money.

Stay at the Golden Nugget. It's worth it. Take a swim with your wife in the heated pool outside next to the shark tank.

I double book all the time if I have overlapping offers that are both worthwhile. I figure that they'll both still achieve their primary objective, which is to get my butt in the door.

Fantastic. Keeping the wife happy is very important. If you are required to have a room reservation to use the other comps at the Four Queens Casino, I would still keep the extra room if I were you.

Take a friend along and check into the Four Queens, and give your friend the room card. The casino doesn't know the difference. I've been in your position before when I was staying at the Nugget and had a free room at Queens. I checked into both and took naps and showers at the Queens because its such a damn long walk at the Nugget to get to the hotel elevators, and the Queens are right there in the casino.
