Does it have anything to do with this company?

http://www.manta.com/c/mtmk8kz/powerpro-component-technology-ltd

says it's located in Henderson.

Nope, have nothing to do with them..... I just thought it odd that people posted their electric bills for the month and it says exactly what is on my bank statement.... yet the power company says they don't know anything about Nevada Power Pro.... arrrggggg. Well, I have my bank looking into it, but this is crazy....

the bank is trying to find out, but it will take a while.

You should instruct the bank not to process any automatic charges from that company from now on. And also to check on the phone with you any time an automatic charge is made, assuming you don't regularly set thign s up like that (I don't, because I lose flexibility in my payments). If they won't, then switch to a bank that will.

12/02/10 NEVADA POWER PRO NPC PYMT $198.81

I don't think the PRO is part of the company name. I think it's just part of the crap that the bank puts on the line item for the automatic payment.

Intentional or not, it looks like someone else is trying to pay for their power using your account. You said the account didn't exist when you lived in NV. Did you open it in NV or in CA? Bank routing numbers are location specfic, so if the routing number is from a CA branch it's highly unilkely that the situation is an innocent mistake. If it's a routing number from an NV bank, the odds are low but higher that someone may have just innocently fat-fingered the account number when they set up their autobilling.

I have my bank on it, unfortunately I don't think it's a fat finger mistake.... I did open it in CA, not NV...sooooooo. It's just pretty creepy that something like this could happen. Thanks for all the help everyone!

I had the same problem. After I moved out of my house, I got a charge from the cable company for more than 5 times what my regular bill was. Absolutely baffling that they can keep dipping into your bank account after you've closed the service. I called them and they knew about the mistake, but their response was "we can't reverse the charges, so we'll send you a check," which I know is bullshit because they've reversed charges before. They can't just take out; they can put in as well. So now I have to set up a point person in my old town to receive the check, which they probably won't send anyway. I hate it ...
