Did Sen. Hatch actually thank Ford for being an attractive witness?

Wow... I would love to get confirmation of this happening...

"Lindsey Graham just falsely told a bunch of reporters that Democrats are never subjected to accusations of sexual misconduct, and warned them that if Kavanaugh fails, Republicans will gin up false accusations against future Democratic nominees to even the score. Wow."

I know there will be questions about the Republicans use of an outside prosecutor in Dr. Ford's testimony but I am not sure how anything they would do seen as attacking her would help them at all. At this point, it is still he said/she said and it comes down to his rebuttal of her testimony.

The whole thing about her fear of flying is interesting...that was brought forth as a reason she could not get to DC until Thursday, but it turns out that her "fear" can be overcome fairly easily as she has gone lots of places. Perhaps the story about that being the issue was wrong, but a different reason would see to have served her better.

How did she not know that the Senate had offer to send investigators to talk to her in California?

Do you have any comment on whether or not she's telling the truth about what she alleges?

If you get to a point in your life where the Senate of the United States is allowing you to testify with regards to the confirmation of a Supreme Court Justice, I'd say that's a pretty good indication that you've got quite a bit of credibility in your back pocket.

I used to like Lindsey Graham. He's been one of the reasonable ones. Not anymore. He debased himself for Trump. Sad.

It's possible for multiple things to be true that might seem contrary. I find Ford credible but it's also possible one of the other women is actually a Democratic operative.

Both sides are playing politics, that much i'm sure of.

MAGA-Twitter is in meltdown.

Their entire defense of Kavanaugh seems to be "BUT SHE'S FLOWN IN PLANES BEFORE!"

Kind of entertaining to watch.

But I feel terrible that Dr. Ford is still having to endure this. They've gotten all the relevant info out of her that they're going to get. Now it's just redundant.

Illustrates what a sh**show this hearing has been for them.

I have a friend that's afraid to fly. He has to "medicate" at an airport bar for two hours before getting on the plane.

But he does it because the reward of the destination experience exceeds the temporary fear, and he hopes the more he does it, the more that fear will ease.

It's just another lousy excuse to discredit a very compelling witness.

I found her testimony generally credible. I am sure I will find Kavanaugh's testimony generally credible. What I find "in"credible is that she doesn't remember a date, a place, how she got there, how she got home for this life altering event. 3 she said were at this 'party' under penalty of perjury have sworn that it did not happen.
If this were a criminal investigation the prosecutors would laugh at the 'evidence' they have. My guess is that Kavanaugh will be a more credible witness, if witness is even the correct word. I can't wait to see it. Booker, Harris and Klobuchar are now crafting their questions while thinking...... "What can I ask Kavanaugh that will help me become President?"

As EB would say, he has hit it out of the park! He has not shied away from just telling it like it is about the pathetic Democrat Senators. ams of course won't like hearing the truth. Just eliminate the word 'partisan' and insert the word 'truthful' from his post and you have an accurate summary. I see no way anyone who did not make up their mind before the hearings could vote against him.

Truth? Puh-lease.

He has not told the truth about his own life. He has lied to Congress previously. Both are disqualifying for the SCOTUS. If minds were made up before all of this, it was strictly because a republican named Donald Trump nominated him.

That is the definition of party before country.

He's gotten halfway there a couple times, but I'm still waiting on the following line:

"We live in a country where due process and rule of law is paramount. That is why I'm calling on President Trump to demand a full FBI investigation into Dr. Ford's and other allegations, and for this committee to subpoena all witnesses that could corroborate my innocence."

Ahh, never mind, it didn't come.

If WHAT is the new norm? Investigating sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominees? Why would anyone have a problem with that?

He lied about the drinking age thing and I'm going to be disappointed if a democratic senator does not press him on it.

He said seniors were legally able to drink. He said the drinking age was 18. Maryland changed it from 21 to 18 in July of 1982 for beer and wine (already 21 for hard liquor), the summer before Kavanaugh's senior year. Residents who turned 18 BY JULY OF 1982 were grandfathered in and allowed to drink legally. He was 17 at the time.

Kind of a minute detail, yes. But it's something that he has repeated now on a couple different occasions and it's not truthful.

The Republicans continue to say there there is no corroboration of her story, but yet refuse to subpoena Mark Judge to testify in person, under oath. I suspect they are afraid of what he will say, and would rather shove this scumbag down our throats than get to the truth.

I've been escorting my mom on medical stuff the last couple hours, so have dvr'd the Kavanagh part of this. But I think this particular point is about stuff he said in that Fox interview. I didn't dissect it or hear it uncut, but it sounded like he was saying he was 18 and could buy beer at some point in reference to his high school years.

That may be where some confusion starts.

For those who are watching the hearing and listening to the dems questioning Kavanaugh about his yearbook, here are some quotes from Ford's yearbook during the years she attended:

"Lastly one cannot fail to mention the climax of the junior social scene, the party. Striving to extend our educational experience beyond the confines of the classroom, we played such intellectually stimulating games as Quarters, Mexican Dice and everyone’s favorite, Pass-Out, which usually resulted from the aforementioned two.”

“No longer confining ourselves to the walls of Landon and Prep, we plunged into the waters of St. John and Gonzaga with much success.”

“Beach week culminated the year for those of us lucky enough to go. With school and our minds in temporary recess, we were able to release all those troubling inhibitions of the past year. While dancing in the middle of coastal Highway, Ann [redacted last name] and friends picked up some men who passed out in their apartment…”

“Other seniors preferred to expand their horizons and date younger men, usually sophomores, who could bring the vitality and freshness of innocence to a relationship.”

“And there were always parties to celebrate any occasion. Although these parties are no doubt unforgettable, they are only a memory lapse for most, since loss of consciousness is often an integral part of the party scene.”

I guess it is okay to question Kavanaugh about his yearbook but not Ford about hers.

Wow, there's the problem. Ford drank and passed out at so many parties that she can't remember who she had sex with on various occasions.
I wish Kavanaugh would sue her for tarnishing his good name.

Why didn't the republicans question her about her yearbook?

Where was it said that the questioner for the GOP was not allowed to ask Ford about her yearbook?

Nobody said her yearbook was off-limits for questioning.

True nobody said it was off limits but we all know that the libs here and everywhere and the media would accuse the republicans of accuser/victim shaming if they brought up the subject.

This I will agree with. She sucked. Luckily the real Senators took over in the Kavanaugh questioning.
