So Rubio made a statement that trump inherited 200 mill
Well to start it's not accurate especially after taxes and his five kids
However that being said Rubio said if he had invested in the market in 1999 in index funds he would be the richest man in the world specifically more then buffet ( guess he forgot bill gates)
Fred trump died in 1999 so Rubio stating in 17 years 200 mill would become over 60 billion?

Anyone know what the return would have actually been or how impossible it would be to achieve a 300x return

It's not accurate at all. Trump didn't inherit
200 mil. In 1974 his dad turned his 200 mil
company over to his 4 kids, with Donald
as president. It wasn't an inheritance at all,
the dad lived another 25 years. He was
still part owner the whole time. Trump
took the business and eventually made
it a company worth billions. So Rubio
is full of crap, as usual.

No I'm not providing a link, I did the due
diligence, I waded thru the drek to find
this, do it yourselves.

$200,000,000 since 1974 would be worth about $60 billion with a return rate of around 14.2%

$200,000,000 since 1999 would be worth about $60 billion with a return rate of around 37.3%

Of course, there are a lot of other factors to calculate it exactly...when did he get it, etc. I am not a math person; this is just a quick look at it.

Rubio's statement seems pretty out there...

When Rubio frequently lists Trump's failures, why doesn't he ever bring up Trump's Atlantic City casinos?

Truthfully when watching the debate I got the impression Rubio was not trying to be dead accurate with Trumps inheritance numbers but trying to state that if he wasn't born rich he would never have been successful.

Rubio came from immigrants and a poor family so basically, his argument is, if you want someone who is one of the regular people who truly became successful, the person to vote for is Rubio, not a billionaire who started out as a millionaire because of birthright.

A simple equation can give you a ballpark on how long it will take you to double your money, it's called the Rule of 72. In compound interest take the number 72 and divide by the rate of return and it should tell you how long approximately it would to take you to double your money. For instance take an 8% return it should take you about 9 years to double up. 1.08 to the 9th power is 1.99. To get a 300 fold increase you would need 8 double ups and then some, basically doubling your money every other year.

The question is if Trump ever lost a penny on them. In most cases the creditors lost, which should be the plan of attack. Trump just used the laws to his advantage.

Anybody remember this Trump game show
from 1990? Watch the first 2 min and you'll
see The Donald. It was on for 250 episodes
and was filmed in AC at Trump Castle, which
in GN.

Ever read the long and complicated story of
Trump in AC? It's bizarre and twisting and
has ups and downs and is very hard to
explain in a soundbite. Trump was once the
biggest employer in South Jersey. It didn't
turn out well for some people, but Trump
is right, he did make a lot of money in AC.
It's confusing reading about it, the public
would be bored with the details in the
first 10 seconds.

He also made a lot of money off Trump U
Been reading about it
Trump is actually becoming absurd in this case
A Hispanic judge is in charge
Trump is demanding the judge step down because he has to be biased due to Trumps insults of Mexicans
Unbelievable.
Trump's position is that a Hispanic judge should not be allowed to judge him because they are Hispanic.
Bottom line, Trump is a racist
You have to prove bias, not imagine it

...Trump's failures...[his] Atlantic City casinos?

There's the well known joke that if you want to leave Vegas with a small fortune you should bring a larger one. I don't know the full story of Trump's casinos but can understand Atlantic City isn't what it used to be. So would he be the only casino owner to turn a large fortune into a smaller one?

Well, I guess it's hard to argue with success.

BTW, in case anybody is wondering about the Trump Castle, it was later renamed the Trump Marina and then got bought out and became a Golden Nugget property.
