They could even make it play optimal strategy for you, and they'd still make more money per hour if they offered this.

Basically you pick the # of hands you want to play (up to say, 1000), it plays thru all the hands automatically, then displays the results.

Eg.

1x royal
15x straight flush
etc etc

They could let people play millions of hands an hour this way and lose their money super fast.

Just take this to its logical conclusion and have a machine that accepts bills and immediately prints out a voucher for 98% of what you inserted.

The point is that people like to play. That's why they're in a casino.

I wouldn't play it.

I want the freedom of choice; it's my bet, they're my cards, I decide how to play them. (I've ranted about this before, on a different subject.)

Besides, casinos make a lot of money off of "incorrect" play.
May the cards fall in your favor.

There was a bank of machines in showboat that would auto hold the optimal strategy automatically. you could essentially just keep pressing the deal button and play quickly if you wanted. It was an absolute horrible game to play.

never seen an older auto hold that played optimal they come close but not perfect.
Fiesta had 101% $1 LDW with auto hold it made a few errors. Massive variance but fun.

I seen some recent ones at dottys but they charge you an extra 1% and i'm not sure how accurate they are.

I've had forever the idea of a slot machine with 5 reals featuring numbers 0-9 and producing a return of $XXX.XX randomly (weighted down, of course).
I suspect most slotters won't go for that...
