Hello everyone,

I have a business trip planned to Singapore and am thinking about stopping by Macau on the way back to the states.

This is my first time there, and was wondering if MLife is connected to MGM Macau. Their player's club seemed to be named "Golden Lion" according to their website. If I'm a gold card Mlife member, can I get their 3rd tier card or are these properties disconnected with each other.

I thought I would ask around here before I called Mlife and ask them.

Also, any recommendations for Macau by experienced members would be nice!

Thank you.

I believe Mlife doesn't cover MGM Macau.

My friends there told me Sands was the best place.

When I was last in Macau in 2009 this was the case, as I recall.

I'm in Macau once every two months so if you have some specific questions, shoot! As for a recommendation on Macau itself. if you've never been to Macau I'd say go for it!

MGM Macau is not part of Mlife. Your GOLD membership would probably only equal their 2nd Tier if that.

Keep in mind minimum bets are hovering 65 USD over there.

I would also suggest calling MGM Macau and asking about an upgrade not just Mlife. I sadly, 100% doubt they will bump you to anything.

Good luck and keep us updated on what happens when you call them up.

Thanks a lot for the replies!

I'll give them a call before I go, and I'll take your advice Buzzard and tell them I know you :D

Also, @nickolay, hows the safety in Macau? Can I walk around with a lot of cash on me, or should I be taking cabs around.

I'll be flying into Hong Kong and taking a ferry there.

I'd say pretty damn safe. Especially during the day. I've had zero problems walking alone from MGM to the Rio which is about a ten minute walk away from most casinos. Since you'll be at the MGM that's on the Macau Peninsula. Usually there are a ton of people walking to and from the various casino's all very close by. You shouldn't really be taking any cabs at all while you're there unless you need to get to a specific area quickly. All the big casino's offer free shuttle bus service.

Galaxy , Starworld will shuttle you between the two properties on cotai (galaxy) and macau peninsula.(starworld) Starworld is one big block from the mgm.

City of Dreams will shuttle you between downtown macau peninsula (across the street from grand lisboa) and their casino on cotai.

also Venetian on cotai offers a shuttle bus to Sands on the peninsula but Sands is sorta out of the way unless you want to have a drink over at the Fisherman's Wharf.

If you're flying in or using the ferry from Hong Kong then all the big casino's will have a free shuttle bus waiting at the airport/ferry terminal. Can't miss em. Also every casinio shuttle bus has free wifi.

Also the city bus system is damn good, fast and super cheap. 4 macau patacas or hkd for a one way.

If you do want to use a cab, make sure they are running their meter before you take off! Otherwise you'll be paying double.
