I've visited Vegas 3-4 times and 2 of those I stayed at the Flamingo. I have to say I will always look first there for the value you get. OK, the place is a little older, almost "anchient" in LV time. But this is still a 4-star place. You are pretty mich in the middle of the strip and can walk to the great buffet at Bellagio or any number of places in Caesars alace in minutes.

I stayed at the Flamingo in July 2009 as well as November 2008. Both experiences were pleasant. The room rates were fair, the restaruants were good and there is a good variety of machines and table games.

The rooms in both cases were nice. Not fancy, but not run down either. All the staff that I had contact with were very nice. The poker room is small, but has a 3 or 4 tournaments every day. If you want to waste some time during the day playing poker, it's fine. If you want some serious play go elsewhere. Sahara and Planet Hollywood Tournaments are a much better value, but if you like to stay and play in one casino, the Flamingo is a pretty good choice.

I'd give it 7 out of 10 stars.

I stayed at the Flamingo from March 7 through the 11, 2010. We had a mini-suite. Although the accomodations were clean, many of the little things were wrong. Lights were out in the entrance and the bathroom had the mood lighting out. Harrah's properties in general seem to not be being maintained like they have been in the past. We like the Flamingo because of its location on the strip. It is not pushed far back like other casinos and has a Metro stop. I usually play BJ at $25 a hand and the tables were not filled. Overall the trip was good. I would stay at the Flamingo again. I have stayed at the MGM, Bellegio, TI, and Sands in the past. The location of the Flamingo makes it good for me.

Problems at the Flamingo.

On my last trip I stayed at three different hotels. The Aria, Hilton, and the Flamingo.

Two of them were good, as usual. (Although the closing of the buffet at the Hilton in the middle of the day doesn't make sense, but it's the Hilton and it's poorly managed, so what do you expect.)

My big problem was with the Flamingo. It's turning into a toilet and is smelling like it as well. Basically, it's turning into The Imperial Palace.
My first room was on the older side of the hotel, since the new side was full. When I first entered the room, the smell of air freshener was extremely strong and smelled like the kind of freshener that's used in a cheap gas station somewhere in a LV 7-11 men's restroom. (Lysol with Cinnamon?) I figured the smell would largely dissipate, while I played during the day and the first part of the night. However, later that night, when I returned to the room, the smell was still there. As a matter of fact, it seemed stronger. Every time the fan came on with the air conditioner, it was even more robust. In my room's restroom it was so strong that my eyes would water when I was in there. Finally, I called down to the front desk and they sent someone up. (Meanwhile, I attempted to put on my goggles and tried to put a snorkel out the window so I could breath, but the window wouldn't open. :) The hotel associate concurred that the smell was strong, but that it was like that in many of the rooms on that side of the hotel. After leaving the room, my clothing smelled like I had worn the airfreshener as a cologne.

The front desk kindly arranged for another room, so I changed rooms at 3:00 am. This time they put me in a meeting room. Inside the room was a large conference table with roughly eight chairs around it and a fold down bed. The room didn't smell, but I could feel every spring and wire in the bed. The area behind the bed was beat up and full of debris, dirt, etc. The bed was also completely worn out as though it was an original bed from the 1940s. When the air conditioning turned on, it would make a horrible sound as though the compressor didn't want to turn and as though a small animal was being electrocuted each time.

Despite the horrendous shape of the rooms, the staff was very friendly, but I will never stay here again.

We've stayed at the Flamingo twice this year. The room quality didn't leave a good impression, but we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. (Wake up, pool, shower, go out, and return intoxicated in the evening)

The pool, location and monorail stop were the only reasons we stayed there. There were no big glaring problems, like smells or noise. But it was in a bit of disrepair, with paint flaking, rusting fixtures, and crown molding falling off. Nothing major, but in need of a renovation.

I would still recommend it for the pool. We live in a part of the country without a lot of sunny days, and no water parks within driving distance. But we would never stay there in the winter.

Someone just had a Flaming O "Go Room" experience that involved a tv-remote without batteries, an uncleaned toilet and a smear of blood on a bathroom towel. The person who encountered the unhygienic Go Room at the Flaming O had previously stayed at The Sahara where she found the rooms to be spotless.

The Sahara is closing, the Flamingo is not.

Well, the whole place is being run into the ground despite all those ads about GO room renovations. The casino is full of hookers, the hallways and sidewalk areas are filthy, ... so what difference does it make if they quote low priced rooms. Its a dump.
