You get what you pay for. If your room is unacceptable, ask for a different room.
If a little is good, more's got to be better!

Stayed at Fitzgeralds for the first time about a month ago. I laughed at this post cause we must have gotten their one warp-speed elevator. It was ridiculously fast. Maybe they read this post and fixed them.

They are also one of the few casinos that still have real coin operated machines. I love spending an hour or two upstairs playing them, as well as that super high pay video poker. It was out of service when I was there in February but maybe it is back?

It was fully operational when I was there the weekend of July 16th. That was my first time playing video poker. Had no clue what I was doing but decided to play it since the Wizard featured it in his review.

The spanish 21 game is fun there also. Got soft 13 vs. 6 doubled down got a 2, doubled down again got a 2, doubled down again got a ten, dealer busted. Got four aces in a row on one hand. I was able to split them all and was able to double two of them after splitting. I realize these plays don't eliminate the house edge entirely but they're still a lot of fun. A few people had a problem with me hitting my hard 13s vs. 6 or less but overrall it was a fun and friendly game.

The elevators at Fitzgeralds are plenty fast. The problem is that there are only four of them for guests, and the building is 34 stories. I've stayed there many times, and am mystified as to why anyone would say the rooms are dirty.

They say casino's aren't built on winners... No...they're built on ignorance.

...just another great thing about this place. Rip Torn is one of my favorite actors. Speaking of irony, Fitzgeralds is the first African-American owned hotel and casino in Las Vegas.
