1000 progressive bet on roulette

What is the $1000 progressive bet on the roulette tables at the Aria? I thought it had to do with a progressive betting system but have been told tha it has to do with betting limits ex:
1k straight up on a number, 2k on each split for that same number, 4k on each corner of that same number, 3k on each street.
