Perhaps I am not "entitled" to my opinion here but there is absolutely no reason on earth for you to attempt to correct me over such a minor thing as "entitled" or "allowed" to have an opinion here...as in current management "allows" me to post my opinion here as long as I don't violate any of the rules of the forum.

Well, had you used "allowed" instead of "entitled" then I'd agree with you. But this is private property so you aren't "entitled."

I get it...but there are some here that do tend to attack harder than they would if they were face to face with a person.
Within the internet, a land ruled by kittens, baby sloths and the occasional llama, trolling is frowned upon. The trolls are everywhere, much like dandelions. Yes, they choke out the grass that you'd like to see flourish, but they also can be pretty if you look at them the right way. My grandmother would literally cook the leaves at the base of these weeds and encouraged them to grow with water.
If you wish to start an argument, you simply express your opinion and wait. A naysayer will soon arrive. Thus has it been, thus shall it ever be. No forum administrator would wish to monitor each post so closely that they are doing nothing else but censoring. That would take all the fun out.

(well they do hold the actual evidence (or not) to many thing in their surveillance clips. It is too bad they couldn't blur out faces and sell you a clip for a small sum if you supply the time date and place.)

I say, let them. True, we don't need nastiness - but we have to realize that some people, despite their best intentions simply lack the knowledge to convey information in a way that shows the intonation and pitch of the printed message. Others are emotionally immature and just don't have the requisite skill sets to manage an appropriate response. Further, if you'll notice my signature - the same skill that gives that ability - if it's lacking, they will lack the awareness that it's lacking, and stumble forth. They are, well, ignorant of their ignorance, so they cannot address their shortcoming. They simply don't see it.
It's much like playing peek-a-boo with a baby. If they can't see your face, despite the fact your very face is inches from them, but covered with a towel - you're simply not there.

I mentioned the possible medical etiology (no, I am not a doctor) in the hope that I was correct.
I was, quite frankly, grasping at straws in an attempt to construct some sort of plausible explanation for his fixed belief that he actually saw eighteen yo's rolled in succession.
"Confusion" brought on by a possible medical issue might explain it.
Otherwise, what are the possibilities?
I see only three:
A) It never happened, and he knows it (prevarication);
B) He believes it happened, as part of some form of delusion or affected belief process;
C) He actually saw it as described, i.e., it really did happen.
I am not a mathematician, and defer to those here who are: they did the calculations, which show it is, in the real world, so very unlikely to roll eighteen yo's in a row as to be deemed impossible.

He and I have argued for over a decade on a couple of boards in regard to a variety of subjects, always keeping it reasonably civil, and it is my intent when he returns to continue to engage him in a reasonably civil manner.
Heck, I'd suggest to my own mom (if she was still alive) that she couldn't be right on this, that it must be some other reason.
Even if I had to eventually suggest that she was temporarily delusional.
I'd make a concession if we were dealing with little kids who might believe in Santa. But there shouldn't be little kids here.
Or bring some proof and make us all eat crow. More power to you if you can do that.

FWIW, the reason I didn't ban you over this is that I took (from the beginning) what you said as an honest (though apparently misguided) attempt to "throw him a lifeline". He chose to be insulted; I think he could better have laughed your remote diagnoses off as ridiculous (given that you aren't his - or any - type of doctor) in the poll and in the other mentions. The part I haven't understood from you was that you continued several posts in that vein after he'd made it clear both here and over there he WAS insulted. Sometimes it's better to just stop talking. Which I'm going to do as well about this, now.

Did I read this incorrectly or did you say, in print, that some posters (members here in good standing) should be dismissed because they do not live up to your, just your, level of expectations? Is that what I read? If that is true, it is a bit of a stretch. Of course you have the option of stating your opinions here, whether anyone agrees with you or not.
