I just got back from a week on the Cape. On the return trip, I stopped into MGM at Foxwoods. I know that this is Wizard of VEGAS but I thought this would be of interest to people travelling about the Eastern Seaboard. MGM at Foxwoods has a $5 Texas Hold'em table (mid-day Saturday) that pays the Ante on a Straight or Better. The dealer at the Texas Hold'em Bonus game told me that their closest competitor, Mohegan Sun, only pays the Ante on the Flush or better. I did notice that the bonus bet did not have the dream result of AA Player AA Dealer so that's a little different from Las Vegas. As far as BlackJack goes, I did not look at all the rules or even glance at the shoe but they still pay 3/2 for a BlackJack, at least that's what is says on the felt.

The Goddess Fortuna doted on me early but then grew bored and tossed me aside. I quickly doubled my $100 on a slot machine, then took that to the $5 Texas Hold'em Bonus, lost that in an incredible run of luck for the Dealer that chased everyone away (I blame Shufflemaster), and then tried to win it back at another slot machine and failed. Overall loss for the day $200. I'll get 'em next time.

The last time I visited the MGM at Foxwoods casino, it was brand new and things weren't quite settled. This time, I felt like it was a well run operation. Friendly staff, frequent waitresses and pleasant style, no gaudy flashing lights in your face. Reminded me a little of the M in decor but smaller. The casino area is an open box like the Palazzo but again, smaller.
Someday, joor goin' to see the name of Googie Gomez in lights and joor goin' to say to joorself, "Was that her?" and then joor goin' to answer to joorself, "That was her!" But you know somethin' mister? I was always her yuss nobody knows it! - Googie Gomez
