I recently aquired a copy of the house way for asia poker at a casino near me. Seems pretty stripped down compared to other ones I've seen and I'm wondering if anyone has the time to do any kind of analysis on it?

Asia Poker House Way

Power Rankings

• High– A and K
• Low– Q through 2
• Joker is used to complete a straight, flush, straight flush or royal flush otherwise it is played as an ace.
• A/K/Q/J is the highest straight. A/2/3/4 is the second highest straight.
• Dealer wins all copy Hands.

“Balance to the Low” Rule

Where there appear to be multiple ways to set a hand, we will always choose whichever option best improves the Low Hand.

No Pair Rule

• Play the highest ranked card in the High Hand, 2nd and 4th highest ranked cards in the Medium Hand, and 3rd highest ranked card in the Low Hand.

One Pair Rule

• High Pair – Split the pair between the High Hand and Medium Hand
• Any Other Pair – Never split

Two Pair Rule

• High Two Pair – Play the Kings in the High Hand, and split the Aces between the Medium Hand and Low Hand.
• Any Other Two Pair – Play the higher ranked pair in the High Hand, and the lower ranked pair in the Medium Hand.

Three Pair Rule

• Three Pair with any High Pair – Split the highest ranked pair between the High Hand and the Low Hand, and then use the remaining pairs in the High Hand and Medium Hand.
• Any Other Three Pair – Play the two lower ranked pairs in the High Hand, and the highest ranked pair in the Medium Hand.

Three of a Kind Rule

• High Three of a Kind – Split the three of a kind into the High Hand, Medium Hand and Low Han.
• Any Other Three of a Kind – Never split.

Straight and/or Flush Rules (play whichever is higher on the list first)

• Play a Straight or Flush in the High Hand if a pair can be played in the Medium Hand. If multiple options are available, choose whichever option improves the value of the Low Hand.*Balance to the Low Rule
• Play a Straight or Flush in the High Hand if High Card(s) can be played in the Medium Hand, Low Hand, or both.
• Use the Two Pair, Three Pair or No Pair Rule.

Full House Rules

• Full House – If the hand contains a high pair, split the pair between the Medium Hand and Low Hand, and then play the trips in the High Hand. If the hand contains high trips, split the high trips between the High Hand and the Low Hand. If the hand contains neither high trips nor a High Pair, play the trips in the High Hand and the pair in the Medium Hand.
• Full House with Additional Pair – Play the best Medium Hand and Low Hand Possible.

Four of a Kind Rules

• High Four of a Kind- Always split the four of a kind between the High Hand, Medium Hand and (if no higher singleton can be played) the Low Hand.
• Low Four of a Kind- Use the Two Pair Rule.
• Any Four of a Kind With Pair- Use the Three Pair Rule.
• Any Four of a Kind With Trips – *Balance to the Low Rule

Thank you. I've been trying to get that for years. I was once shown the one used at the Gold Coast. It was about 10 pages long.

Thats actually missing some of the rules... it should also contain the following:

High pair with low pair- Split the high pair between the medium and low hand and play the other pair in the high hand.

If the hand contains two three of a kinds, play the lower three of a kind in the high hand, the pair from higher three of a kind in the medium hand, and the highest singleton in the low hand .

3-4-5 ace rule: If a pair of aces can be played in the medium hand with an ace in the low hand, always play this way.

The Shuffle Master version contains a manual of 60 pages of rules.

Is this a generic version?

Yeah it's clearly a stripped down version of the long one. I would imagine there's little chance this version will last once the casino realizes how weak this is, but in the mean time, I really want to know HOW weak it actually is ;)
