hello, Ive read the wizards basic strategy for spanish 21. after doing so i purchase the book he mentioned "pros guide to spanish 21 " by katarina walker.

In the book under basic strategy for h17 (table 3.4) the forfeit strategy says:
(player hands) 12-16 (s)tand against dealer 2-7 and forfeit (surrender) against dealer 8,9,x,A

however the basic strategy for 12 always hit
13 always hit execpt 5,6
14,hit against 2,3, stay against 4,5,6 and hit 7,8,9,x,a
15 & 16 stay against 2-6 hit 7-A

would it be reasonable to disregard the forfeit strategy for all player hands except for player 16 against dealers hole cards of 8,9,x,A?
It would seem following sp21 basic strategy would be prudent with following forfeiting strategy with a players hand of 16 against the aforementioned dealer hands?

I would love to hear from someone who has the book or if someone has a link to the wizard of odds forfeit strategy for spanish 21, as I have been unable to find the wizards surrender/forfeit strategy.

thanks!

The forfeit strategy is only for after you have doubled down. So after you double you can't hit so you either stay or forfeit. So if you have 12-16 after doubling and dealer has 2-7 stay. If dealer has 8-A forfeit. Also known as double down rescue.

interesting. it would seem thus far then there is no real late surrender strategy? she says this on pg 40:

"if you have a stiff hand against a dealer 7-a you need to hit. on hands greater than13 you will probably bust but if you stand you will win only if the dealer busts" "... so go against your intuition and always hit"

ALL id like to know (and after reading being unable to find the answer) is are there player hands that should be surrendered against dealer 7-A? (given the players first 2 cards) Thanks for the quick response:)
