Hi Mission,
(1) I only see four picks for VCUSkyhawk. (Typo on your part?) If not, before using the grading program, add the words "no pick" for his 5th pick in the grading program.
(2) My name appears twice and one of them should be removed.
(3) StrictlyAP has two opposing picks, (Minnesota and St. Louis) something I'm all too familiar with, since that happened to me once last year. :)
(4) The grading program won't recognize "Tampa Bay u44-confidence" from SodaWater. Change the u to Under.

Hmmm... I don't think the program will recognize JW17 and his "NO" pick. "Saints" is okay of coure, as is "New O" but not just NO.
(I clicked the Grade Player button and this pick appears in a blue colored font, indicating the program doesn't recognize it.)
I can probably add NO in a later update, as a valid pick for the Saints.
Other than that, it doesn't appear to have a problem with the format of anyone else's picks. That's good.

Version 2.02 (of the grading calculator, for those using it) can be found here.
"NO" is now a valid entry for New Orleans. (No one ever entered NO for the Saints last year? Really?)

No, opposing picks were definitely illegal last year and I'm sure they are illegal again this year. Technically, as I recall, the penalty was a forfeit - forfeit for both picks.
Late in the season, it could prove advantageous for the person in first place to make a a couple of opposing picks, guaranteeing that he/she would go 2-3 at worst and 3-2 at best, and thus not risking an possible 0-5 week.

there are a lot of people on new orleans including me.
The pessimist in me says Atlanta is the safe bet here and probably by double digits. That is how bad my picks always are.

Good catch.
However, if Mission uses the grading calculator, this never matters. It ignores the line the user enters, and only grades via the line entered earlier in the NFL Lines and Results worksheet tab.
For example, this week a user can enter Dallas +100 and the program will still only grade it as Dallas +3.

Gotcha. Are picks graded by the final line before the game or the line posted by Mission each week.

after this week I think people with invalid bets should not be told. If they can't pick right then they lose that game. JMO

The line posted by Mission. That's the only line we use. Once it's posted, that line won't change.
Also, you might as well post your final pick here, for us to see. It can't hurt. Normally, you can't post additional picks after all of the other picks are revealed for good reason. The very last week, for example, the player in first place could purposely do this, to his/her advantage. However, since it's Week 1 and since you didn't play last year, I myself again don't have a problem with that this time.

So what is the ruling on revising picks? When the team you originally selected for the week has their star running back rung up on child abuse charges and is out for the week, you sort of feel like maybe a revision of expectations might be in order :-)!
I guess the question is are you allowed to change a pick prior to the cutoff deadline from the pick originally submitted earlier in the week?

I would love to know this too..as I just picked Min and not 5 minutes later found out about Peterson.

I haven't picked yet and my vote is to let you revise your pick.
On the flip side, looks like we have a part time mission but I'm cool with it but he might not want the extra workload of dealing with this.
I will go with whatever mission decides.
In the meantime, I would send him the revised picks anyway.
On the double flip side, Ravens lost Rice and crushed Pit.

In other leagues that I'm in, revisions are freely allowed before the deadline. I'd vote for the same rule here.

I am not a regular sports bettor, but read the thread about being unable to change a sports bet in LV and that makes sense.

I suppose it's never been specifically mentioned in the Rules, but I've always behaved with Picks can be amended any time prior to the deadline. If you look at your PM's, you'll notice I don't even open most PM's until just before I post the picks, and that's only if I think there is something else in there, as well.

I assume JW17's pick of "A+2" must be certainly be Arizona +2.
For those using it, My grading program also doesn't recognize...
...ARZ for Arizona. (But Ari or Arizona or Az or Card or Cardinals are all valid.)
...CAR for Carolina. (As written, it doesn't know if it's CARolina or CARdinals. But one more letter, Caro, is okay, as is Panthers.)
...DEN for Denver. (It doesn't know if it's DENver or a confiDENce pick. (But one more letter, Denv is okay, as is Broncos.)
These four picks will have be edited but all other picks as entered are recognized. Good luck to all.

I could post what I believe are the correct standings, but I don't know the result of last week's "problems." (VCUSkyhawk was missing a pick and as entered, StrictlyAP posted two opposing picks.)
